Oh yeah, I have the original set, and haven't bought too many SW sets the past few years, but this one I will be getting.

I think they'll save the Slave Leia for a re-do of Jabba's Barge.

@y2josh luke in the desert skiff has the correct hands, the new pics confirm this. @legodad the sail barge is a cert for 2013 IMO as is gold bikini leia in said set. I also hope to see an R2 with serving tray and no doubt we will get the redone 3p0 from droid escape another jabba and a gamorean guard. Have to say that this is the set I am most looking forward too as a potensial future release.

I will probably get two of these so I can build a bottom floor for the trapdoor and Luke. I hope it's around $100 or so.

Would be great if they can make a modular (stackable) for this kit. Have the Rancor pit with Luke, another Gamorrean Guard, the Rancor keeper and of course the Rancor...be able to sit/attach below Jabbas Palace.
Also another kit to attach somehow with Sny Snoodles Band.

^Somehow I erased the second 'Luke' but it came up double for some reason.

^^Great idea! Would be good if they were standalone sets too, with the added bonus of completing the whole palace when combined.

This is the same idea I had mentioned in another thread, and maybe it's in the cards... at least the Rancor pit part. It couldn't be that difficult to design a set that would fit nicely beneath this and then just remove the plate that catches the minifig.

As for the Max Rebo Band... I'm not going to say it'll never happen, but... Siiruulian and Droopy would require new Chewbacca-style head-and-torso pieces... and I don't know exactly how they'd go about Sy Snootles, but she wouldn't look right as a standard minifig. And then you have to consider the 'expansion' band from the SE... most of whom wouldn't be too difficult to pull off, but Rappertunie would need to be a 'hunk of plastic' in the vein of Salacious Crumb, and Joh Yowza would be in a similar boat with Siiruulian and Droopy. After all this, I think the set would wind up with a price that well outpaced interest.

So, even if you just went with the three original members, they probably have a better chance of existing in a larger set (another reason why I was excited by the original rumor of a UCS Jabba's Palace) than they do in a 'Max Rebo Band' set.

But hey... here's a pretty awesome MOC that would be simple enough to replicate if all else fails.image

That would be cool, and perhaps not unrealistic given that what they did with the original Palace - didn't 4476 (Jabba's Prize) and 4475 (Jabba's Message) attach onto it?

i dont know if anyone saw...but on some of the toy fair pics...the edge of the jabba's palace box is caught in the pic, and clearly states that Ree-Yees is an included minifig

this would be really cool if true

Ree-Yees could well be the tenth figure. He fits the set and closely matches the shape of the 'mystery' figure on the preliminary box art. I'd originally thought it was an Ithorian (which made no sense), but a Gran could also fit the bill.

Side note: Boba Fett's updated blaster is WAY too long.

I really love the new Gamorrean guard, but... $119.99? That's nearly $0.17 a piece. The skiff is MUCH more reasonable at $24.99.

The text underneath that figure does say Ree-Yees, however, is it normal that Lego keeps one of the figures secret, or is it on the box due to the box not being updated yet?

This set is chock full of awesome figures, and the price per parts ratio is high, but there are 8-9 brand new figures in there.
