Razor Crest set in troubles

Greetings, followimg the revelation on the main Brickset page concerning the problems LEGO found itself in Germany I went to the main "Stone Wars" article and got more information, it seems it has something to do with LEGO using a fan desing with Moblox, another blocks brand. Feel free to add more information (article is in German):

You just completely fail at reading comprehension, eh?
The issue of using a fan design is on the part of this 'Modblox' company, and thd knock off produt they're trying to peddle. Lego has done nothing wrong except fall victim to a shady AF small potatoes clone brand.
The set is not in any trouble. It will just be released with an alternate name while Lucasfilm sorts out the legalities.
I mention the Modblox desing in the discussion as well the fan desing, but will that mean that anyone can now make a LEPIN model of a SW ship and say LEGO infringed on their desing?

I did my best to passively push this topic off of the front page.  I turn around for five minutes, and here it is... again.

They could call this set 'Space Garbage Truck', as long as it has The Child, it'll sell out everywhere.  As an aside, if you don't have the licensee right to the IP in that jurisdiction, you can't claim infringement.  It's not your IP for which to enforce such a claim.

    I still like MandoLorean.

Thanks for the thing, although LEGO has been using fan models for sets lately. Remeber that Jurassic Park brick built T-Rex that garnered 10k votes in the Idea platform and was not approved? It came originally froma JP themed project with: the gate, characters of the movie and a Ford Explorer which was eliminated by LEGO because they lost the right to the JP license before getting it back, the similarities between both the product and the fan made submission were very striking.

And now I'm trapped in the swamp.  @klinton - this is your fault.  You just couldn't let this topic swirl down the bowl?
I'm sorry. I try not to open these, but morbid curiosity usually gets the best of me. It's just so surreal, every time. I think I'm reaching that tipping point where I no longer hate it so much as take a lurid enjoyment out of the inevitable train wreck.

Why do we all (I'm just as guilty) keep doing this to ourselves by ever opening any of the topics this nincompoop posts?

No has mentioned that this topic has already been an ongoing discussion in the General Star Wars thread since August 23. Anything useful or otherwise on the subject can be added there to keep the conversation in one place.

It’s like watching Tiger King, or maybe a slow-motion car accident - you might feel a little guilty but it’s hard to turn away!

Since the 23rd of August this was a thing? Brickset must have been very busy then. The article that I cited thanks to Brickset does continue to update itself as the case moves on.

Why keep it in one place? Everyone should start their own thread on it. That way, you can say the same thing in many places, over and over again. Or alternatively take opposing views in different threads for fun. :-)
