75294 Bespin Duel availability and release date revealed

The official Star Wars website has revealed that 75294 Bespin Duel, in addition to being sold by LEGO online, is a Target retailer exclusive. It will be available on August 27th - notably, the same day the now-cancelled Star Wars Celebration Anaheim was to begin.

The site also shares an interview with LEGO Star Wars design director Jens Kronvold Frederiksen, which you can also check out via the link.

The Target.com page is live, as well

Redcard exclusive. I have one, but I still think it’s kind of a dick move.

Presumably they will be severely limited, can using the red card be a way to enforce one per customer limits?

I wonder how limited they’ll actually be. I hope they made far more of them than if it were only available at SDCC.

Real shame that the rest of the world misses out - it looks like it will be a massively popular set, and since it's no longer an exclusive why not just make lots to meet the demand? Makes no sense to me.

If they are just sdcc stock, then I'd expect very limited. If they are making more and it is not just getting rid of existing stock, then I see no reason they'd be North America only as that would go against their no regional exclusives statement.

I'm guessing that there is going to be a reasonable number of these sets available.  It seems to be a fairly big endeavor to go through the effort to include the set in the North American catalogue, on the [email protected] website and to advertise that it was going to be available through Target stores if there are only a very limited number.  If there were only a few available I would have expected to see it just show up on the LEGO VIP site like all the other exclusive sets that most people miss out on.

There will be multiple 1000s of them. But demand will be high as it is a dead cert double in value quickly set.
