This time last year in Lego

Just had a quick scan of this time last year and thought people might be interested that ...
- Series 3 minifigs were just becoming more widespread (only a year ago!)
- Lego westfield, cardiff and Indianapolis stores were in the process of opening (only a year ago!)
- Everyone was getting very excited about the forthcoming Maersk train, AQ series, QAR, MF, MVR, Hoth base, Knights bus, VW bus and harbour and the series 4 CMF. Only a year ago!
- TLG started giving away a free creator shark in Feb in the UK ... US was police boat.
- Tesco did 20% off at the end of Feb in the UK, TRU USA seemed to have endless deals.
- Lego announced they'll be making boxes smaller (did they ever actually do that?!)

Anyway, the reason I was looking through these was to find out what sales are on in the UK around this time of year (Jan-Feb) and the answer seems to be 'hardly any'.

Thanks for the blast from the (not-too-distant) past Si! A year ago I was just getting seriously back into the Lego habit (it was the CMFs wot did it :)

As I recall, Tesco and other retailers (Argos?) often have a sale/offer to coincide with half term dates, which for my bro starts 13th Feb, though it does vary across the country. Hopefully there will be something good at Tesco at the same time as a clubcard double-up exchange.

This time last year I was desperately looking to import the pharaoh's quest theme as it wouldn't be available in Australia for almost 6 months and even then, only at one retailer and at grossly inflated prices by world standards.

@johnsbricks....lolol. A year ago I was happy with my city expansion and some SW sets. Now I am trying to get together a display for AFOLCON and MOCing like a good un'. I'm also addicted to looking on this forum 10 times a day!

This time last year I had a realistic budget for the sets I needed. Now im wondering how I will be able to keep one without selling a kidney.
