What are these?

I had this since I was a child.  The case is definitely Lego, but I have no idea what the brick inside are.  Do I just dump them in the trash and save the case?

I’m 99% sure Lego (Automatic Binding Bricks and even the earliest inspiration Kiddikraft) has always had studs on. Is this another brand or am I going crazy?

The Lego carry case is very nice - reminds me of a KNex one I had for a while, albeit far older. @Istokg or @LusiferSam may know more

I think these are 'Block City' from the '60's or '70's.

Not anywhere near as fun to play with.

Awesome, now I know what they are at least.  Okay, so keep the case and probably chuck the blocks.

Somebody gave me about a dozen of these when I was a kid- I think they thought they were Lego. Until now, I had no idea what brand they were! Thanks, @Mylesend and @SumoLego!

They're great for building really boring odd-scale houses.

I wouldn't just outright toss them @Mylesend! As a vintage toy from the 60s, surely there is a collector out there who would be interested in these.

You can always give them to a charity shop

That's what I usually do with the off-brand bricks that inevitably crop up in bulk purchases. I've been sorting through a lot of parts recently and have accumulated a shopping bag full of Megablocks, Tyco, and unmarked (Lepin?) parts that will be going back to Savers when they open back up. I'm sure there are plenty of children whose parents cannot afford Lego that will be happy to play with them.
