Hello my name is Brandon and I am from Vancouver, BC. I've been a fan of Brickset for quite some time now, but only recently joined the forums. I mainly collect sets from the City line and then a little bit of everything else. To be honest, I do not like Star Wars or any other licensed time mainly because I have never seen the movies, read the books... etc. I am hoping to get my first ever modular building in the coming weeks. I already missed out on three of the most beautiful sets, am I certainly won't want to miss out on a fourth.

Hi there! Are you the same one that always posts the amazing deals on Toys N Bricks? If so, I owe you a big hug and a huge slap. LOL. If, not just disregard that!

Which modular building have you decided up on for your first? The Fire Brigade or the Grand Emporium?

LOL, I am an active member of Toys N Bricks, I could just be the one posting those amazing deals that make you go broke. However, I am mostly active in the Canadian part of the forum, so I don't know... I might not deserve that slap after all. But I would be happy to take the hug ;). I have decided to get the Fire Brigade since it is going to be discontinued very, very soon. I hope to visit Portland someday and take advantage of the NO TAX laws you guys have.

The Fire Brigade is a smart choice. Also, the 2nd floor just sealed the deal for me. But I think I'm going to get another Grand Emporium - that was a fun build and the chandelier is lovely.

I'm originally from Canada as well - from Toronto. But have been Stateside for more than a decade. Love having no purchase tax in Oregon - especially after the Sales and GST tax nonsense in TO. 15%+ on everything you buy? LEGO would cost a massive fortune there.

To my fellow Canadians - I was born and raised in Edmonton but have lived here in Utah for 38 years (yes, I am an old AFOL). I don't get up there very often now that Mum and Dad have passed but my heart yearns for the homeland. I spent many summers in Vancouver and on the Island up near Campbell River. My dad's family settled there. Anyway enjoy those modulars. I am looking forward to Town Hall.
