How do you keep assembled set the best condition?

Acrylic plastic container is often recommended but the problem is
- it's not cheap, its size is fixed, it's not even free of dust for 99%, there is often slit.

Is there any wiser way of keeping assembled set free of dust, dirt, debris and moisture...
in fact I am more worried about insects, cockroaches or ants...
