Brickset Bonus Ball Bonanza - Matt89190 Edition

Given that we've not had one of these since last decade, I thought I'd have a go at hosting (apologies if the thread's in the wrong place or I was meant to speak to someone first!).

Up for grabs is the throwback Obi-Wan poly as well as a few other bits and bobs.

The question: what is your realistic New Year's resolution? - ie something you genuinely believe you are likely to have achieved by the end of 2020. Mine is to finally clear out the shed (exciting, I know).

Good luck everyone!

Thank you for hosting! It's a shame these threads have dried up recently, I would run some if I had more stuff suitable for prizes.

My resolution, I started running last year and I want to complete a half marathon this year. I've signed up for one late in the year so I have a target and a deadline!

I want to get my LEGO sorted. I didn't do it as a kid, and I think we all know what that can be like...(I don't need to play since you're in the UK, and I don't want to incur insane shipping, just sharing)

    Thanks for hosting!

    I have a few:

Lose 15lbs. I had accomplished this goal in 2019...and then gained it back. New year, new strategy. Definitely going to happen!

Sort and organize my LEGO collection.

Start modifying my Winter Village to the MILS system.

So I heard some advice that you should make a resolution to ADD something to your life rather than try to stop something. So I've made a goal to always have a spare bag in my purse to try to keep the plastic bags at bay. Too bad I don't own one large enough for the largest LEGO sets!

Don't really make resolutions as it's far too easy to break them.

The closest I've got are realistic plans for this year.

They are to finish at least one of the four Bricklink projects I currently have on the go and to not start any others until they are all done and to make time to enjoy my hobby by building stuff instead of just collecting it.

    Thanks for hosting.

    Thanks for hosting this.
I don't really do New Year's resolutions since they never stick for me but at some point I want to get a MOC completed enough to actually bring to a show. Been in a LUG for three-plus years and feel a bit of a fraud without contributing anything.
There's also the ongoing sorting struggle but that's eternal.

To finally sort all my loose bricks from the many (hundreds!) of built and disassembled sets (rather than displayed) so I can see what I have and not have to keep buying new parts everytime I want to MOC!

I'd very much like to re-organise my parts collection and sort the mess of boxes full of the chaos I create whenever I make mocs and don't have time to properly put everything back away in the correct drawers.

    Thanks for hosting, great prize!

Build the sets that are slowly accreting around my desk, hemming me in. I want the area clear enough to use my VR headset again and try out the Vader VR games.

Finally finish inventorying my loose Lego parts. I started back in 2017 and am probably 60% of the way through.

Its pretty simple for me Lego related, to not start any new projects until the 6 that I have on the go are either finished or finally given up on.

I’m taking my capstone course this term for my MS degree so that’s (fingers crossed) kinda attainable. This will hopefully lead to a better job with better pay which means I can then afford to pay someone to clean my place.

Try to wait for sales when buying Lego.

I need to be more consistent with exercise. It's so difficult to be motivated in winter because I hate the cold

    *Curb LEGO spending
    *Spend more time building
*Pare down my collection of unbuilt/sealed sets so that I have less stuff in my LEGO room and increase the fung-shui in that room so that I want to be down there building more.

Simple one for me this year, to be far better with my money. I'd like to have more available to be able to use for holdays etc, so apart from knuckling down and working hard to get the income up, it's also looking at where I can bring the costs down that's really key.

I’m going to try to finish several MOCs that are in-progress, exercise a bit more than last year, and overall work on being more content with life (which will involve not visiting the sales thread so often!). Thanks for hosting!

    I have two:
    - Convert the attic into two rooms: one for my son and the other one will be my mancave.
    - Lose 10% of my weight

Both should be realistic but the second one will be the hardest one to pursue.

I don't make New Year resolutions, but like many others in this thread, it would be nice to get my spare parts organized. I bought the required trays last year, so this year I might get them filled?

I recently started to play tennis, so I guess one goal is to stop getting beaten by all the old people at my local tennis club.

Hello! I have always wanted to learn to play tennis. In Boston, I was always surrounded by the public tennis courts but had no time to learn, and now I have time but there seem to be no public courts. Can you give me tips about starting to learn to play tennis as an adult? equipment, costs, anything? I am exploring different sites for home setup also. I am a beginner but held a racket a couple of times and learn very fast (I am not bragging). Thanks!

Mine needs to be build more mocs. I spend ages collecting the parts for builds, then fail to follow through with the actual building.

This is some fine thread resurrection.
Where better to ask for tips about getting into tennis than on a long dead thread on a LEGO forum?
