Welcome to the forum!
I would suggest posting in the Everything else LEGO section with a subject something like “Gift suggestions for advanced 5 year old”.
At the moment he's primarily into Ninjago. Here are a few of the more difficult sets that he's recently completed:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GZ3MYC5/ 460 pieces, ages 9+
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071LB2K8D/ 544 pieces, ages 8-14
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BKLFFMN/ 882 pieces, ages 9-14
He also completed this Golden Gate Bridge set:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GX7R73M/ 565 Pieces, ages 12+
I had a little chat with him today. I think he would like some kind of vehicle, preferably Ninjago, with a remote control. Here's some that I found:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BMGR1FN/ Batmobile, appears discontinued
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D75GN1C/ Racer, ages 6+?
I think it needs to be something stays on the ground. I don't think he ready for anything that flies (eg, drones).
Any other ideas?
Thanks
There currently aren't any remote control Ninjago vehicles available, and I don't think there ever has been. If he has the set #70652 it can be modified to be remote controllable with the set #17101.
If that sounds like a bit much, the set #42095 is a vehicle with a remote control, but it's not Ninjago. It has an age range of 9+ which sounds to be about his ability.
The numbers above are clickable links, by the way.
EDIT: Nevermind, I was too slow!
