Where do I go to find the value of a vintage set?

I'm a LEGO novice. I have an unopened 1978 Homemaker Bathroom set (#261). Box is in good condition (it's the flip open lid type of box). EBay has used ones with parts missing and no box for $45. Where do I go to find the value of this set and also to sell it? Is there some sort of vintage LEGO selling site? Thanks in advance for the tips!

If you filter eBay for “sold” / “completed” listings you can get an idea of what similar items have sold for in the last few months or so.  Bricklink has 3 for sale ranging upwards of $50 or so but a couple of them are incomplete —

For something a little more unusual like this it may take a bit longer to find the right buyer— take good pics and stress the condition of the pieces and box in your listing and you may have more interest also.

Thanks, @KungFuKenny! This helps a lot. Someone is selling theirs for $65 on eBay and it's missing a sticker and is used, but has the box. Mine is in much better shape. Will need to take nice pix and post. Thank you!

@CCC yeah, I've noticed that they've been sitting up there for a while. Hoping the fact that mine is virtually unharmed and never opened will make it sell quicker??? We will see

Very very niche market for homemaker sets. Post it wit good description and pictures and be prepared to let it sit for awhile until someone interested eventually comes along
