The other two sets of instructions use a different part, which I found after fighting with the parts for 30 minutes

I got a "spare" of the medium azure 1x1 round plate, but none are used in the set. Suck it Lego..... I win this round!
*evil cackle while rubbing fingers together in glee*
Yet look really closely and it is about 10 past 6.

Compare the shoulder of the promo image to the box art. It looks like they did a new render for the promotional image but accidently moved the arm. This is still the main set image on brickset and on bricklink!
In the instructions Catman has brown shorts on ...
Whereas in the minifigure they've been pulled down to reveal his undies. Or maybe they are just brown boots.
Who is missing in this?
#41252 has you stick a musical note on a non-existent stud...
It it stays stuck on nothing for the rest of the booklet.
Cool part! I would be happy with that error.
having said all that, i have only ever had one error n a production set, i bought the re release of the metroliner and it had smoke coloured glass in stead of clear. i rang lego and was promptly sent out the correct parts.
i also have the guarded inn re release and i only got one horse.
i guess errors are going to crop up with something as complicated as a lego set.

Thanks for sharing that. that was an interesting read!
"it’s not the LEGO Group’s happiest department!"
I think this definitely outweighs any of the cons of switching to the perforated tabs, but also I definitely don't like tearing or cutting the box open directly; there's just something that feels really nice about taking out my pocket knife and cleanly slicing through the sticker seals to start off opening and building a new set.
