Simple year....Brick Bank and maybe the Deli.  Have to wait to see the deli first, but the Bank will be a 1/1 purchase.   My daughter wants only the Heartlake Supermarket.   I want to like the Star Wars stuff.....but sadly I don't :(

I really think 2016 will be the end of LEGO in my house.  Nothing was purchased for Christmas, and all 3 of my kids have moved on to other things.  As a parent who participated in their Lego play, it is much harder to watch it go away then it is for the kid to let it go, lol.

    Oh, well.....

I will be at the LEGO Store Friday morning to pick up the bank. Was going to get Ghostbusters HQ on the same day, too, but just got back from spending a lot in Hong Kong (including on LEGO) so I'll wait to treat myself for my birthday (which is in Februaru anyway).

I I might also pick up either Livy's Popstar House or Prison Island. I love those two sets. Eventually I'll pick up all the Friends sets and most of the City. The two new Marvel sets are also must buys for me.

@ryjay I want to like the SW stuff, but the series 3 Microfighters, leave a lot to be desired (don't even get me started on the SH 'Mighty Micros'). I have no interest in TFA, so I'm not likely to pick up any of the sets apart from the Falcon, but if I do, it will be for MOC parts. About the only SW set I'm likely to get for the actual set is Obi-Wan's Interceptor, loved the look of it the first time I saw Ep III, just not a fan Anakin's colour scheme.

I kinda like battle on takodana, but looks like it will be way overpriced?
livy's house is one of my favs as well, along with the elves secret market place (or something like that), the king's mech and jestro's evil mobile.

still not sure I'll buy any of them, but jestro's evil mobile is the most likely so far, looks like it will go well with classic castle sets.

curious to see dragon elves more closely, I kinda like the water one.

@Fauch, don't know if you're collecting the Elves sets, but I know @xiahna has enjoyed all the sets released so far. Based off her experiences with the current sets, she's already planning to get all the 2016 sets.

    All the new Bionicle sets
    All the new Elves sets
Maybe... the four largest Ninjago sets in the spring wave? (I'd be missing out on some of the "Djinn Blades" that way, but I can Bricklink those, and it'd give my budget some much needed relief)
    The Brick Bank
Probably a good number of the Nexo Knights sets (though I could probably skip a few depending on what figs come in the summer sets and which figs I can pick up for cheap on the aftermarket)

As well as whatever's in store for the summer that appeals to me. It's gonna be an expensive year, that's for sure. I'll be receiving free copies of some of the Bionicle sets to review for The New Elementary, which'll be nice, and hopefully I can do the same with Elves since I really enjoyed reviewing this year's sets and anything I don't have to buy myself helps.

I'll definitely get some of the smaller Nexo Knights sets - 70311 (Chaos Catapult), for instance. And something with Macy.

I do like the Deli, almost bought it today, but the line was too long.  But I'll get it.

    Where'd you find the deli?

I grabbed the deli at toys r us, haven't built it but it looks good.  The alternative builds didn't look so great so I'll probably stick with just one for my city.

Toys R us had out all the new sets, less the larger TFA ones.

@legoTT I suspect that they tend to put in sets they are running behind sales projections for in the catalog when they have to decide what goes in and what doesn't. I also noticed that Po 's x-wing is not in there as well I think that just sold well and don't need to advertise to improve its sales.

I am a bit impressed by the Creator corner deli price being 39.99 USD. I think that is a fairly good deal for that set. The Lodge a bit less at 29.99 USD but Im also guessing both will be on sale during their runs (and the Lodge gets you a nice looking brick moose).

Did anyone else notice that the Fairground Mixer is in the January catalog but the Ferris Wheel is not?  Struck me as odd.  I hope the lack of focus on the 'amusement park rides' doesn't mean we won't get a new set this year.

Still holding out for a roller coaster at some point....

I would be concerned, if much of the City stuff was not also omitted as well.

Patiently awaiting the next (non-playset) UCS SW model(s) as there's probably nothing else out there that whets my Lego appetite right now. The GB HQ is a maybe, but probably not, don't really have room for it where the Ecto 1 currently is. Not sure if i'm a big enough GB fan to pay £275 - I love the first film, not so much a fan of GB2.

I agree with that. I would love to spend the money but with several new Star Wars UCS sets coming out (updated Death Star, Hoth Base, and Snowspeeder) It mix be hard to justify getting it. Although my Birthday is in January... So it might just end up in my collection anyway.

Brickset has a new Summer 2016 list of known sets so far, I gotta say the Volcano City sets along with both Ghost Rider Team Up and Gas Station are very much in my wait to see pictures to see what I buy. what themes i plan to get and complete this year.
to start there is Nexo Knights.
    then there is Scooby-Doo.

i also like to finish out the Ninjago sub-theme of Possession.
i missing just 4 set's from this theme and some polybags. if i can pick up them set at a good price. i get them.

other then that there is Ghostbuster HQ later in the year.
any of the Modular Buildings i can get my hand on at RRP or less.

there is other small stuff. but that is the main item i wish to get over the next 6 months.

Whilst I have bought, after being tempted by the Ghostbusters HQ and Brick bank, Nexo Knights are not my thing. My daughter sums it up quite well I think, in her opinion (and mine), they look like the leftovers from LEGO ideas that get 50 votes and not much further! They might be good for parts, but not much else IMO. Now if they brought back a proper medieval theme, that would be different....

Oni-Wan kenobi's starfighter?!?! Why has nobody else said this?
I'm still primarily catching up on what I've missed while I was out of legos. But what was that at the beginning of the magazine? Knights on motorcycles?  With all that technic? I think I threw up a little.

lego and technic go hand in hand now.
most models have some technic in them. you cannot make stuff like ninjago with out technic parts. well you can just not going to look as good.

the Knight stuff is "Nexo Knights" and i quite like the theme.
but it is a more kid targeted theme. not all AFOL are all going to love it.

    Ferris wheel (probably)
    Temple of Airjitzu (almost certainly)
    Brick Bank (absolutely)
GBHQ (a little less likely than ToA, but pretty certainly)
'60s Batcave (up there with Temple of Airjitzu, despite all my moaning)
Kwik-E-Mart (at least as likely as the Ferris Wheel)
More than I can afford from Speed Champions, and the Rally Car from City
A selection of sets from Technic, Elves, Friends, and Nexo Knights

Trip to lawyer to see how to protect Lego collection in the event of declaring bankrupcy....

I envy those of you who say this is going to be an easy year. I haven't had an easy year since coming out of my DA!

  • BumblepantsBumblepants Member Posts: 7,634
^Everyone looks at the winter releases and thinks "Oh this year will be an easy year." Then the summer sets get revealed at toy fairs and then more and more exclusive Expert sets get unveiled throughout the year and we are left wondering how we ever thought it would be a light year.

I have to say I was a little disappointed when I started reading the description for #31052 . Originally it was described as Holiday Destination, which I was hoping was some kind of house(s), as I am looking for things to add to my winter village sets. I'm not really interested in vehicles but with the last part saying one of the builds is a house I am still holding out hope.

The Tree House #31053, definitely sounds interesting so now I just need to wait for pictures to really make up my mind.

I would imagine it is going to be somewhat similar to the last treehouse ( #31010 )
As for #31052, I wonder if it will be in the same vein as #31038 Changing seasons and have a model that you can slightly change to represent a few different models.
