Fairground/theme park displays

For the summer, I am debating putting out a fairground display. 
The problem I have had when I have tried this before, is if I put out the large pieces I have like the Ferris wheel and mixer, and eventually Carousel. It really does not look right. The sizes are off. If I go with other pieces such as the past Friend sets (and there are some others out to supplement with), there are often too many small pieces to make it visually interesting. If I put out one of the larger pieces like the Ferris wheel and then the smaller pieces, it was still not working well for me, and so I went back to my standard ocean display,

Has anyone put together a nice fairground/theme park display they are happy with? Photos? Ideas?

Not mine, but a display somebody put together at my wife's office last year:



Personally I think the mix of different sizes work well - after all you will find the same mix in actual theme parks.

It did help that everything was motorized :)
