#6985 - Cosmic Fleet Voyager SEALED - rare in such a very good condition

lall9000lall9000 Member Posts: 5
Hi,

I have for sale a rare Classic Space box, #6985 Cosmic Fleet Voyager, SEALED. Both seal tapes are intact. The inside of the set has never been touched. Everything is just like it was when it was on shelves in 1986.

The set is in a very good condition though it is 33 years old. Some edges has some scratches. There are three sticky tape marks (barely visible) which was used to keep the cover closed. On one of the lateral side of the box, the price had been removed without caution and thus ending in small parts of the print removed. But it has aged really well over time, without any moisture problem.

I understood that this set is quite rare in such condition, a 94% rarity on some auction sites. I'm not really sure how much it could be priced, so I'll be taking offers.

If ever you are interrested, or want more photos of the box, please send me a message.

I'm willing to ship worldwide. Buyer pays exact cost.

Thanks,
Laurent

Mods @Huw @drdavewatford @Matthew @CapnRex101 this probably should be moved to marketplace.
(Then again, this post seems awfully shady, especially since it has no price listed)

Is there an easy way to move this post to marketplace, extremely new here I would need some guidance please, I posted it here more especially because I do not know what price to ask

^no only a mod can move a topic. The proper people where tagged, and they will move it.

Plus he says he is not sure what it is worth, so will be taking offers.

Pricing something like this is hard. If he says something too low, it'll get snapped up and he loses out. If too high, he'll get laughed at.

Let him consider what people that want it will be willing to pay and go from there.

The last post is a very helpful one :-(

I just consider closing my account right now and it won’t be a great loss for you all it seems...

Because English is not my native language, I did not fully understand « awfully shady » at first, in this context.

Let me assure you that this post is quite legit and that I am also a lego fan and I sell this box because I was able to find find it on a flea market (you’d have bought it too) but it does not fit in what I am used to have in my collection...

to prove it this is a picture of the box close to the 10212 set I have...

Um, wow! I thought I accidentally landed in the brag thread. That is an amazing find! Just out of curiosity @lall9000 ,what are your LEGO interests? Are you open to trades?

As I said in the first post, I am willing to sell this set, and exchange is not part of the plan this time.

I just really don’t know how much I can ask for it. this is why I posted it on this site, on which I thought I could find LEGO experts who could help me solve this question.

In my honest opinion I would put it on Ebay where my guess is that it will easily sell over $1000.

This is probably the best idea for a set like this.

I don't know what ebay is like in France at the moment, but in the UK it seems like every couple of weeks they are doing a maximum selling fees are £1 promotion. I'd wait for one of those promotions and put it on ebay.

@lall9000 Very nice find. If you go to the main brickset site, and search for 6985, you will see the new price value. (See below). Now you have a good starting point to know what it’s worth.
Note as well, there are no sealed sets on eBay, or bricklink. So you are in the driving seat.

Good luck in your sale, and stay with brickset, all collectors are very welcome, especially when they find classic sets in flea markets.. :)
