Best ways to store big Lego sets or ships/boats dust-free? Ever built an enclosure out of Lego?

Curious if anyone has an enclosure they recommend for storing Lego sets they want to keep dust-free.

I'm thinking particularly about building a couple large Pirates ships but don't want them to sit out collecting dust, and they're too large for most common display case sizes that I can find on sites like Ikea.

What are your storage methods?

If you've built an enclosure out of lego, would like to hear about that as well, as it's one option I'm considering.
