@kks , thanks for pointing that out.. I'm sure that's all I will think about when I display this in my home.
  • brickupdatebrickupdate Member Posts: 1,020
@dodys Thanks for all the photos!!!!!! The thing that is most surprising to me so far is the new box shape/orientation.
  • coolpixcoolpix Member Posts: 357
@brickupdate I noticed that too, and found odd that you open the box from the top (or bottom).
  • dodysdodys Member Posts: 10
@dimefield: I don't think so ... they were just sold the box to me when they see the notice "to not sell it before Feb 1st or Mar 1st" ...
  • dodysdodys Member Posts: 10
@brickupdate, @coolpix: what did you mean with "new box shape/orientation"? it's a normal box, normal opening from the top...
  • dougtsdougts Member Posts: 4,110
all the other modular boxes are oriented so that when upright, they are wider than they are tall. This box is taller than it is wide. It could be the same actual size, just turned 90 degrees, likely to incorporate the fact that the picture of the Town Hall itself is taller.

can you confirm the box size is the same as the other modular boxes? hard to tell from picture.

@dodys, So when can we expect to see more pictures?

    Thanks
  • brickupdatebrickupdate Member Posts: 1,020
Yep, I assume that the box is the same exact size, but will be displayed on the shelf differently than the other modulars: tall instead of wide.
  • dodysdodys Member Posts: 10
Yes, you're right, I didn't noticed that ... It's taller than it is wide.

Here are the rest of the pictures ...

    I've just finished it.
  • dodysdodys Member Posts: 10
    The box size is 58cm X 48cm X 12cm.

So it's the same size as grand emporium ...
  • dodysdodys Member Posts: 10
Btw, for the ones interested ... The package includes also 4654448 ...

^ it seems like Lego thinks we need 10 of the new brick separators because it seems like every set over $50 has one. I'm glad I only bought 1 green one.
  • GrogallGrogall Member Posts: 159
    @dodys, Thanks for the pics,
2 things? could you post the instructions # it starts with a 6 or 7 and can be found on the back page!
Also if you have any of the other modulars can you post a picture of them together?

    Thanks!
  • llanowarsoldierllanowarsoldier Member Posts: 357
Anyone else notice that instead of stairs the building has an elevator instead? Sweet!
  • LegoboyLegoboy Member Posts: 8,825
@dodys - just out of interest, how much was it?
  • dodysdodys Member Posts: 10
    @flump6523 - 900 RON which is aproximative 210EUR.
  • dodysdodys Member Posts: 10
    @grogall - If I am right, I think the # are:

    #1 - 6010738 / 6010742
    #2 - 6010740 / 6010744
    #3 - 6010741 / 6010746

I will make a picture with other the rest of the modular buildings tomorrow morning ...
  • LegoboyLegoboy Member Posts: 8,825
Thanks Dodys. Wow, Eur 210. I wonder if that's going to carry across Europe? Wow!

210 EUR are you kidding me?? That's like 270 USD!!! That's WAY too much!

But seeing as how US gets everything cheaper... it could be 210 USD right? :)
  • oldtodd33oldtodd33 Member Posts: 2,680
Did anyone notice the lack of FB on the back of the box? I'm betting on $199.99.
  • brickupdatebrickupdate Member Posts: 1,020
Good catch on the lack of Fire Brigade. That will be the next one to watch sell out everywhere. I'm thinking $199 as the very lowest they would sell this for. My gut is they won't go higher, but I would not be surprised if they did. I would easily believe $220 or $240.

The most I'm willing to pay for this set is $225, but I don't think it will be that high.
  • krklintkrklint Member Posts: 502
If this is $270 American, I guess my days of buying the modulars is over. Even at $240, nope. I'll just moc up my own version from PaB bricks. Will it be as cool? Probably not... but everyone has their breaking point.
  • Bosstone100Bosstone100 Member Posts: 1,431
@krklint - I was thinking I may pick up the Fire Brigade in case I decided to buy all the modulars but a set for over $200 will definitely prevent me from collecting them all.
  • llanowarsoldierllanowarsoldier Member Posts: 357
So when will we get the "official" announcement from Lego?
  • Zel_ZaktZel_Zakt Member Posts: 1
I think it'll be far cheaper in the USA\main Europe than in Romania! It was 900 RON ($270) on this Romanian Shop site. But other modulars, like the GE, cost near RON 780 ($224) here! Though it's still $149 in the USA:
http://caramidute.ro/c/1/lego-exclusiv Romanian prices have nothing to do with official EUR\USD ones. I think it will be less than $200 (maybe $170-180) in the USA.

I wish Lego would start putting out some modern modular buildings.
    Here here.

    Yea!
Apart from the FB car and 2 from Indiana Jones. Not much chance of doing a Lego "Untouchables" any time soon with those big old buildings....

Those big skylights look perfect for having some terrorists smashing through to hold the mayor hostage!

And those balconies look perfect for assassination attempts!

Good thing there will be an influx of super heroes to save the day!

Did anyone notice the lack of FB on the back of the box?
Of course, the style of this new modular would have looked bad next to the FB anyway. They both protrude.
  • dougtsdougts Member Posts: 4,110
they always only show 3 modulars on the box art - the current one, and the last two. I wouldn't read too much into that. I think we can all pretty much be sure that FB is going to go away sometime this year, and Town Hall will be around long after, so it makes sense.
  • Silber334Silber334 Member Posts: 147
And the architecture has a perfect floor plan to enable Legomen from special forces to sneak in and kill the bad guys!
  • aminster85aminster85 Member Posts: 1
I wonder if the elevator will move between floors, or if there is just an empty tube going vertically between all the floors. There is a trap door on the roof above the elevator shaft. If the elevator did move, that would defiantly be awesome, if not, wouldn't be too hard to fix that.
  • MotxamMotxam Member Posts: 22
^In the last image you can see technic bits sticking out at the back which appears to be used to move/lock it between floors.
  • prof1515prof1515 Member Posts: 1,550
The elevator can be manually lifted up the shaft via an external handle protruding from a slot up the back wall and locked level with each floor.
  • llanowarsoldierllanowarsoldier Member Posts: 357
So when should we expect the official announcement from Lego on this set? You would think that with the pics being leaked last week they would have said something by now. If the set is being released Feb 1 as its been said on here and Eurobricks they sure are waiting on this one.
  • dougtsdougts Member Posts: 4,110
I am still going with March 1. If it was Feb 1, wouldn't they have planned it to be on the February store calendar?
  • starfire2starfire2 Member Posts: 1,333
I agree^. I don't see anything on the calendar or online.
  • llanowarsoldierllanowarsoldier Member Posts: 357
I haven't picked up a calendar since November. That does makes sense if it isn't on the current one. Considering this is a bad kept secret now like GE was before the "official" announcement, TLG should just go ahead and make one now.
  • GrogallGrogall Member Posts: 159
To the people who think this set will not be out in February because its not in the Lego Store calendar, Remember that the pet shop last year was released in May and it was also not in the May calendar!
  • llanowarsoldierllanowarsoldier Member Posts: 357
    @Grogall

Good point, but the fact that no announcement has been made by TLG yet makes it seem more likely March. Here it is the 18th and if it was to be released on Feb 1st we would have 90% chance heard something by now.
  • DaddyWhaleDaddyWhale Member Posts: 130
^^^ I would of course prefer the set to be out on 1 Feb... Is it not the case that sets have been shipped to retail stores? If so, would not holding them until 1 March seem rather inefficient?
  • BrickDancerBrickDancer Member Posts: 3,639
The Limo from set 3222 is going to be a perfect compliment to the Town Hall wedding couple. Can't wait until Feb or March 1st (Whichever it ends up being)!
  • GrogallGrogall Member Posts: 159
The official information for the Pet Shop was released 4 days before the set was released!

Does anyone know the release date for this set? Lego.wikia says Feb or March.
  • yys4uyys4u Member Posts: 1,093
I don't know the official or exact date, but from what I've heard it's March.
  • CoolsplashCoolsplash Member Posts: 935
Whenever it gets released, I know I will buying it in late 2013 :D My eyes are on another pair of GE and FB and PS (as another pair of GE and FB with bring me closer to make either the CC or GG or MS). Wish me luck guys.
