    ^ Not that I am complaining, but for some strange reasons I got charged a lower price than what's shown.  80101 shows ￥7608 and 80102 shows ￥8325, but I am charged ￥7044 for 80101 and ￥7708 for 80102.

    I figured they'd just increase production too, but instead they've cancelled some markets. There's not just a delay in production, they've actually confirmed they won't produce sets for them anymore. It doesn't make sense that they'd then reopen it up to different markets - at least, I hope...

    I think LEGO are toying with us now. They know people in other countries celebrate Chinese New Year ...

    That story leaves plenty to be desired.  The story indicates that the sets will be available through retail channels in Australia, and not the [email protected] site.  But there's no press release or citation.

    That could be due to exclusivity agreements or their wholesale product contracts with their retailers.  (i.e. - if you order $5M in product, you can then order 'X' units of this exclusive Chinese-themed set.)

    This is why our current world of blog-reporting isn't much more than rumors and speculation.  Names, sources,...

    Interesting, but I think we have seen CS report that CS said no sets except for the brickheadz dragon suit guy.. so who to believe......

    Can confirm that us lot in customer service have heard quite literally nothing about the chinese new year sets coming to the west, so I'm willing to bet the CS advisor in question just thought they were talking about the brickheadz/year of the pig sets. That's not to say it'll never happen (that's up to the business-y Billund to decide), but we haven't been told anything as of yet so don't believe anything unless it's an actual press release saying so.

    As noted above, Chinese New Year sets are coming to everyone worldwide, so long as you realise it is the brickheadz set.

    The Dragon Dance Brickheadz set has already been available on [email protected] US and I saw it in store  a few weeks ago, though.

    Well my 1st Amazon JPN order is in the UK ( 1x #80101 ). Amazon underestimated the import duty (~£16) and DHL have sent me a nice eye-watering £25 bill ON TOP. 

    Not even 'that' mad, it's not the easiest set to get so *shrug*

    At ToysRUs in HK, they only had the CNY dinner set for HK$559.90. Sorry, don't know the price of the dragon dance.

    It has been deleted. I've heard this rumor is totally wrong. That is probably why.

    These sets are very nice and I would love to have them, but I could see Lego making these a Worldwide release NEXT Chinese New Year. I understand why they are region specific, but the demand seems high enough world wide. It would be similar to Lego re-releasing Winter Toy Shop or Taj Mahal. This set is gold right now, but I would watch news and rumors closely.

    Got my two pair in from amazon.co.jp yesterday. All 4 boxes in really good shape! Keep checking their site. I suspect they will get more in. Only ended up costing $93 and change each, which is about $13 more more than msrp.

    They may not have the quantity needed for worldwide release probably because they are at max production capacity due to all the new 2019 sets and Lego Movie 2 sets etc.

    They have to weigh reducing sets for other regular themes in order to allocate production to produce more CNY sets, there needs to be a balance. So I believe that's why they target the Asia Pacific countries for the limited quantity release, even though Chinese in Western countries also celebrate CNY.

    As the other poster mentioned, no box. I wanted the boxes for these ones.

    Also, Jern92 already had a fair queue of people asking for the set shipped over. It’s not really fair for them to personally supply everyone who wants one on the forum when they already stated they couldn’t get many at a time.
    So I opted to not join the queue and give them less ‘pressure’ on trying to obtain sets for people.

    I live in Australia but it is proving so difficult to buy these even here, I was thinking of asking my brother to get them for me when he arrives in Hong Kong next week.  He is currently in China, but apparently can’t access his emails. I wonder if he will be able to access his emails in Hong Kong. 

    Yep, I really wish these could be properly released worldwide. They are such beautiful sets. Maybe they will do a worldwide production run next year for Chinese New Year.

    @Whitedove - I‘m in the U.K. and was able to order one of each from Dreamworld who shipped them to a friend in Australia.

    Might be worth a call, although it was a couple of weeks ago I got mine. Stocks are probably a bit thin by now.

    As I understand it, they got a second lot in after we got ours, it was reported that lot was gone by close of business that day, haven't heard of them getting more since.

    So, I'm guessing if you had yours shipped to a friend over here, they had a no shipping overseas policy too? We ordered up sets for us & someone overseas, we were contemplating seeing if they could ship the second lot over to them directly, but didn't want chance it. After hearing another retailer was refusing customers putting in orders not going to an Australian address, I figured it was safer just to get them sent here & I'd have to ship the sets to them.

    Was one of each the most they'd let you order, or were you only after that much? Just curious as I heard on the first day they didn't apparently have a set limit, but the two times we called up, once each day, the limits were two of each (I was told the dinner was a limit of one per person, but dragon was a limit of two when they restocked, because they received something like three times as many dragon sets).

    ^Yes, they had a no overseas shipping policy - but they were highly professional all the way. I'd emailed them prior to the launch day and they give me all the info I needed back on email advising me to phone to purchase. I called them up around midnight UK time, ordered over the phone and my contact (who is actually a friend of a friend) had the sets about 5 days later.

    I only ordered one of each. Once the boxes get too big, heavy, or obviously have value they tend to get stopped at UK customs and cop a load of charges so I played safe with just one of each. It's a bit of a crapshoot though. I've had £50 worth of polybags sent from the States that incurred a load of charges, yet a multibox of valuable Marina Bay Sands from Hong Kong arrived without so much as a look.

    Bricklink is well worth a look as the shipping to Australia must be better than to Europe. I've also noticed the prices are already creeping up on there. Are the sets sold out in most territories already?

    ^ Not surprised, they are Lego Certified Store, so it's probably in their best interest to handle such inquiries that way. Meanwhile, it has been alleged elsewhere one of independent retailers interstate told someone over the phone to f-off, they don't ship overseas. Checking their website, they have just recently added a clause stating that any orders for overseas would be cancelled.

    The two Lego Certified Stores are said to be sold out with no chance at this point of getting more (seems they got the bulk of them). Myer & David Jones also got some stock, but from what I'm hearing, only the major stores in selected states got any stock & again, sold out, not likely to get more. Some Toyworld stores did apparently get stock, but as far as I know, none of them located in South Australia did (considering they've only just reopened here, in the old TRU locations, not a surprise), yet again, sold out. A couple of independent retailers in Sydney & Melbourne got a hold of some, also now sold out according to a few people on the OZLUG FB group.

    So at this point, it's unlikely you'll see more Aussie sellers popping up with them, unless the potential for profit becomes more overpowering than the want to build the sets. I'm just glad I managed to get what I got, considering the nearest places to me I know got stock were the LCS in Melbourne (9 hour drive each way) or the LCS at Dreamworld (22 hour drive each way).

    8% sales tax will be deducted automatically if the items shipped outside Japan.  Applied to items shipped by Amazon only, not market seller.

    I'm in Malaysia at the moment. I found two #80102 sets in a nearby Toys R Us so I bought them. Now I have to decide whether to keep them both, keep one sell one, or sell both. Tough decision.
    Some of the other main Lego sellers I have seen have signs like this. Note "sold out" stickers...
