Anyone been to Billund?

I'm heading to Billund from the US in March. I'm pretty sure I'll want to buy so many sets there that I won;t have room in one suitcase to bring them all home - I'm trying to figure out how feasible it would be to ship sets back to the States from Billund, or if I should just pay to take a second suitcase with me. Shipping seems like it would cost much less, but I don't to count on it if it isn't easy to ship from there. Any insights would be REALLY appreciated!

I went for the Inside Tour back in September. I’m not sure why you’d want to buy that many sets unless you’re going to have access to an exclusive discount of some sort. Other than a handful of LEGO House exclusives (custom Mosaic is rare, the tree, and the architecture set), and maybe the Billund airport- there’s nothing else really worth an added shipping expense.

The LEGO House will limit the number of Trees to two, and the Architecture House to three, I believe. Per household.

That said, I didn’t ship anything back myself. I just had an extra hard shell suitcase and stuffed it full. Worked perfectly!  If you do decide to do that, please know that Billund is TINY. You’ll have to drive an hour or more to find a cheap suitcase for sale. I believe we went to a nearby Bilka to find a decent one. Maybe in Kolding?  Billund may have something, but there’s really not much there.  To be fair, we had rented a car and we’re headed back to Copenhagen anyway so it wasn’t a big deal to play another stop.
