Selling my vast vintage Lego castle collection, best way to go about it?
I’m going to be selling all of these castle related sets on eBay. What would be the best way to go about it? Bundle them, bundle only the smaller sets, or sell all individually? Is now a good time to sell? Should I wait until the holidays again? What would you do?
My parents purchased all of these for me when I was a child and young adult. I’ve kept them in sealed plastic storage bins in my closet for the past decade. The following sets are 100% complete with original instruction booklets (all built and verified). No boxes however. Instructions are all in good shape (no rips, tears, or fading). All pieces are in excellent to mint condition (no broken, missing, or work out pieces). I always took very good care of my things (still do).
6090 – Royal Knight’s Castle 1995
6086 – Black Knight’s Castle 1992
6085 – Black Monarch’s Castle 1988
6074 – Black Falcon’s Fortress 1986
6077 – Forestmen’s River Fortress 1989
6071 – Forestmen’s Crossing 1990
6066 – Camouflaged Outpost 1988
6054 – Forestmen’s Hideout 1988
1480 – King’s Catapult 1991
6018 – Battle Dragon 1990
6057 – Sea Serpent 1992
6038 – Wolfpack Renegades 1992
6044 – King’s Carriage 1995
6042 – Dungeon Hunters 1990
6049 – Viking Voyager 1987
6039 – Twin-Arm Launcher 1988
The following sets I believe are also mint and 100% complete with instruction booklets, but I still have to build them to verify this. I like to be 100% positive.
6094 – Guarded Treasure 2000
6032 – Catapult Crusher 2000
4806 – Axe Cart 2000
4817 – Dungeon 2000
6027 – Bat Lord’s Catapult 1997
4816 – Knight’s Catapult 2000
6062 – Battering Ram 1987
6059 – Knight’s Stronghold 1990
6067 – Guarded Inn 1990
6095 – Royal Joust 2000
Thanks in advance!

I agree with Brent about how you describe the items though - mint can mean different things between a lego collector and a non lego collector. Sell an item you think is mint to a lego collector (when it is in very good condition) and you'll have a complaint on your hands!
Thanks!
Thanks again!

I listed it as 6032, but the bag shows: 3732

I started taking a ton a pictures of each set as I'm taking them apart to put them back in their bins. I put the minifigs and small parts from each set in ziplocks within their own storage bin (something I didn't do before) to make things easier. I had the little sets all mixed together in one bin, but I'm going to separate them in ziplocks by set #. I still have to build Black Monarch's Castle and post some pics, and do an inventory on the extra minifigs, weapons, flags, poles, trees, and horses so I can post a total count. After that everything will be verified.
I'd "prefer" to unload the entire collection together as it would be a lot easier. If anyone has any questions, fee to ask!

Can we make offer for some sets, or does you provide us with your ebay links?
You have several sets I want for my son (as I had when I was a child) :-)
What is your expected price range? Do you offer larger order ($300+) under the BL pricing?
Best regards
Vegard (Norway)
eBay fees used to be half of what they are today. (I have been selling on eBay for 10+ years.) It is A LOT different than it was 'back in the day'. :-)
I would like to sell the collection as a whole if possible because once I break it up it will be much harder to sell (and a lot more work on my part). I'd rather not ship 20+ packages to 20 different places if I could avoid it.
I do have eBay (100% positive feedback as a buyer and seller), and a Paypal account, but nothing is listed yet. If I sell anything here, it will definitely go through Paypal (unless I arrange a local pickup with someone who lives in the area).
I actually sold Lego 6098 / 6091 King Leo's Castle on 6/29/11 via Ebay (100% positive). Otherwise that set would have been part of this collection as well (oops!).
I'm still taking pictures and bagging everything up nicely. Next up inventory on minifigs, horses, trees, etc.. and last to build Black Monarch's Castle w/pics.
If anyone wants to make an offer, send me a message and let me know. I do not have a price in mind as I haven't worked anything out. I would just like to get a fair price with the least amount of hassle (that's my goal).
Thanks,
JMoney
