New Duplo Train Track: Disappointment

I got some track track pieces from the new Cargo Train set, and was disappointed to find that they are a different colour from what they had been producing. These are a MUCH lighter colour of gray.
A quick look seems to indicate that the track pieces for ALL of the 2018 Duplo train track sets have this new colour.
Why did they have to change the colour? For what purpose? Having different colour tracks will look kinda stupid when used together.
Not the end of the world, but it does kind of suck.
I AM glad I was able to order just the ramps from Lego though - they're just what I needed for something I am working on. I bought ten of them (:

In BL colours, it is light bluish grey vs dark bluish grey.

There have been so few sets with track in recent years, I guess they don't consider matching colours a problem. They did black even further back (as well as the old dark grey).

I hadn't noticed the change in track colour but I am pretty pleased with the colour bar inserts that trigger functions on the train itself. My 17 month olds are loving the cargo train. The track itself is a bit flimsy though, doesn't take much in the way of contact for it to all come apart.

You can make the track stick together better by putting 2x4 plates under each junction. Think of them as railroad ties (:

I've been working on a massive build - but I needed these ramps to solve a problem so I'm glad I was able to order them as parts, rather than buying a bunch of sets just to get them.
