Compare the original post with the bottom two comments:
I'm sure with Bikes to Billund and Skaerbek at the moment the crew might be a bit busy to resolve it but maybe when we get back we might have more luck :)
Basically, original posts (i.e. the first one in each thread) still shows them, but any comments don't, no matter how old. This makes sense, as the OP is treated slightly differently to comments by the forum software.
In the OP, there's a div class called 'RecordReactions', which seems to deal with all the like images. In comments, this is missing. I'd suggest that some update to the forum software removed that from the comments, either intentionally or otherwise.
Hopefully @Huw will either be able to put it back in, or flag the issue with Vanilla forums.
Avatars liking on posts other than the thread opening post can only be viewed within a user profile.
Can I just say: bring back the avatars on likes, please.
PS In posts on threads I am also having problems with @username not working. I could wait forever but matching username(s) never load.
It's like vanilla stripped out many features of the forum.
Also realised that when #setnumber doesn't work first click, click the very same a second time to be taken to the set in the brickset database.
About #setnumber not working the first time, I have found that it requires a reload of the page you are on to make it work. I don’t think the script that makes it work runs until the page is loaded again.
I'd upload the screenshot, only it's doing it right now.
And I got it to work with the exact same pictures in the same pm to the same person that it didn't work for in the first place. Weird. It's not even generating a message like File failed to upload. It's just simply not behaving as before. It either works or behaves as I described above.
As for the @username issue, I only noticed it at the weekend when I was preparing the bonus ball entry list. That task made it rather obvious that it wasn't working. I still managed to create a new pm with it though, thankfully. The functionality isn't broken there, just in thread.
Go ahead, give it a try to test it out on my comment. You know you wanna make sure it works...
Now, if a fix could be found for why a photo is no longer uploaded but instead placed next to the "Choose files" button as "1 photo" with a tiny thumbnail (three-millimetre-nail more like) of the chosen photo, then I'd be ecstatic! At first it was intermittent but now it's all the time.
I tried just now before writing this post, still the same.
Does it work?
I'm using Chrome on my Android phone, a very very outdated Samsung Note 3. :-))
I'm still having problems uploading pictures to threads or pm's. I have tried a different os and browser tonight and the result whilst looking slightly different is essentially the same, the image can be selected from the file system but gets stuck inside the picture dialog box and goes nowhere. Doesn't get added to the thread or pm. With ipad/safari it does as I described above. With Windows/ie it adds the file location in the middle of the box (not the image url) and still does nothing.
Also within threads @ no longer loads possible forum names. No matter how long I wait.
I know I'm not the only user with the same issue. Used to work before. Became a problem around the same time the like avatars disappeared. Please help.
@Legob
on my screen and saw draft saved auto pop up at 04:20AM and 04:26AM whilst I waited for options and now 04:28AM whilst I type, so I'd say it's still not working for me on safari on ipad. Besides, tbh, I can live without the @username, but not so much without pictures/screenshots. I hoped it would sort itself, meaning pictures, but it hasn't and now it's really annoying.
Also the extra @something from time to time was standard, that's always been a feature as long as I can recall. It would often look like @[email protected] for example.
Thanks to whomever fixed it. :o) So pleased I can post pictures again.
@Huw was it you?
