Ikea display coffee table.

smuggler68smuggler68 Member Posts: 2
New display from Ikea.  One was too small for the UCS falcon so went with 2.  Enough room for the falcon plus a few other models.  Installed led lighting which worked out great.

Awesome find! But it looks like the Falcon did fit in one?
  • SumoLegoSumoLego Member Posts: 15,215
It would appear the pointy thing sticks out of the side of the table by a few inches.

Yes its the Sammanhang coffee table. $89.99 in Canada.  the sides are all enclosed with sliders at both ends so you can access easily.  I just took out the sliders on one end of both and pushed the two tables together to make enough room for the M.F.  I did have the Falcon on a special plexiglass stand I found from the U.K. and really liked it but was just nervous that it would eventually fall/fail somehow so wanted to display it in a safer way.

(The dimension of the UCF MF is...?)

    Nice!

What's the internal shelf height? Looks to be at least 22cm to hold the MF?

LEGO states the Falcon is 33” (84cm) long and 22” (56cm) wide. I've read the actual width is more like 23.5" When I first saw the Table online at Ikea, I thought cool if the Falcon would fit inside but it's too long and as smuggler68 confirmed it won't fit an angle either.

Still it's a nice affordable enclosed display for other large LEGO builds.

This looks great! What did you do for the lights? Are they battery operated or plugged in?

...if I had any money, or enough space. uk price is £60 which seems very reasonable.

That would be neat for me to display all my poly bag sets or and seasonal sets into. Great for conversation starters

It's 23.5" wide. Take it from someone who bought a 23" table and realized that the Millennium Falcon didn't fit.

Wow, didnt see this thread before, that looks great.
One slight issue, is you seem to have fitted the wrong radar dish on the MilF :)

To rehash this thread, went to my local US ikea store and these tables are being discontinued in Feb 2020. But each store will have limited supply. You can go and have it shipped to your house for $59. That's a flat fee for everything thing you buy from them. The MiLF will be in this table in my basement when it gets finished!

I just checked online if this is at my local store and I see it is, and the price is now $79.99.

Sold out at every store in California.
  • legoleppylegoleppy Member Posts: 76
Go to the store and they should be able to ship it to your house from the warehouse. The shipping is 59 but the price is 79. Bought a crap ton of stuff and all the shipping was 59 for everything.
  • Russell844Russell844 Member Posts: 2,391
It told me the shipping was $10.

In my vocabulary a MILF is something completely different. A small one would fit though....

    A MiLF is not a MILF :)

Now, would the new ISD fit in here too (with 2 tables). I'm assuming, yes, on it's own, no with a MilF?

I like the idea of the double sammanhang. In your setup are the X-wing and Y-wing taken off their stands?

I’m sorry but “the double sammanhang” sounds like a wrestling move or something from the Kama Sutra... :-)

^To be fair, that applies to most of the IKEA product names:)  They should change them to actual wrestling moves.  Suplex storage boxes, Full/half Nelson Bookshelf....

This is a silly discussion.  The name for all IKEA items should be based on utterances by the Swedish Chef.  And only the Swedish Chef.

(There would be 321 items named the 'Mork'.)
