It would be easy with MILs.  You would just need to incorporate a little of the texture onto the adjacent modules.

I wouldn't read too much into the dimensions just yet ...

There is a set (10267) for 1+ year old that fits in a 1mm cubed box and weighs about a kilo.

Yes, and it will be the biggest ever set in terms of pieces. But the smallest ever in terms of size once complete. It will be a really tricky build to get them connected with such a close and compact build.

I'm really curious about what the new modular will be. Hopefully we'll get some teasers or leaks soon. I don't hope we'll have to wait till december like we did last year, that was just way too long.

At least I hope we'll know what it will be - post office, museum, university, library? And I hope for a similar style as parisian restaurant, now that we got a more experimental one last time (which is currently the only modular I haven't got).

Oh man, I wouldn't even mind it being a remake if it was Green Grocer. I love the early Modulars but was in my Dark Age for most of them, so this would be amazing.

There were no 1x16 sand green bricks. The rare ones are the 1x8s.

Honestly, I can't see it myself. Sure it was a good set for its time, and it still holds it's own, but techniques, colours, and parts have all moved on. Doing a full remake wouldn't make sense, as it would feel like a step back from more recent sets. Doing a 'reimagining' might work, but what's the point? They might as well do something different.

I BL'd Greengrocer back in 2013. The only element I swapped was the 1x8 sand green bricks, because they were £2.50 each from America, and I'd have needed 50 of them...

Everything else used the exact elements needed. It was just at the point where the sand green 1x2 groove brick was starting to increase in price on BL. I hate to think how much they'd cost now.

The whole thing cost me about £300, plus about £50 postage for the various BL orders.

I bought one on ebay for $400. Most I ever spent on the secondary market. Doesn't really bother me if they rerelease it. In fact, it gives me a year off since I have all of them and space is becoming an issue.

I'd be fine with a rerelease, so long as it's more of an update with newer pieces and techniques. Not only was it my dark ages back then, but I also was a teenager and doubt I'd be dropping $150 for a single Lego set.

I managed to get my Grocer piecemeal but for a lot less than simply Bricklinking it - the sister of one of my coworkers at Lego used to have the Grocer among other sets (including the big Eiffel Tower) that were in an attic tucked away.  He managed to find the Viking tiles, blue arches, enough of the 1x2 groove bricks to take care of the facade (there are several buried in the stucture), and forty nine of the fifty 1x8s. Cost me a lot less than ordering them off BL.  Almost everything else I got from Bricks and Pieces during double points promos. 

The Grocer is the only one I can see them reissuing of the original three, mostly because I'm pretty sure all of the pieces are still in production.  That was a big aspect of the Taj Mahal; everything existed still either in its original mould or slightly modified (open vs. solid studs).  I can't think of anything on the GG that doesn't still exist or can't be replaced (train windows that make up the big bay window).  That is the big thing against a Cafe Corner re-release: the door and skis aren't made anymore.

2019 modular has to be a corner building of some sort (every 3 years is a corner) so unless it was a CC re-release (extremely unlikely) it will be a new modular.

Of the original 3 I would definitely hope for a Green Grocer re-release. I need a grocer and it is one of the few modulars that would go really well next to Parisian Restaurant. And, unlike DD, it fit the architectural style very well.

It would be cool if they re-released CC with a decent hotel interior, but other then that it is probably one of the least interesting modular buildings and I would not be inclined to buy it (average modular is $250+ AU).

^^ I doubt they'd price a modular above $250 unless it was special. Pet Shop was a strange choice, but other than that we've only got Town Hall and Assembly Square.
I highly doubt it'll be a remake. There's simply not the market for something like that. Modular buildings are sold to people who already collect Modulars, and that means already having whatever they decide to remake. Sure, there are some newer collectors without Green Grocer or whatever, but they hardly match the audience that would prefer a new concept.

@Baby_Yoda Your right about there being a far larger market for new modulars then remakes but "I doubt they'd price a modular above $250 unless it was special". Haven't you heard of ANZAC?! (Australia New Zealand Auxiliary Cost) Lego always charges Aussies at a very minimum an extra $50 for no reason. So if a modular was worth around $240-50 US they would make it like $300 AU.

I'm currently on holiday in the azores. There are a couple of toy shops here and Lego is expensive! Because it'd has to be flown in.

That's not true on both counts. Most countries will receive shipments by container and land transit, and many countries pay a premium for Lego. The 'rich' middle eastern countries for example are anything up to 50% more expensive than European prices.

It comes down to a combination of Import duties, VAT and the cost of internal logistics. Belgian prices are always more expensive than German prices, because the minimum wage and VAT rates are higher here than in Germany.

Wages tend to play the biggest part - a high minimum wage affects the cost several times, at the import, storage, distribution and retail stages. I know from family living in Australia that, comparatively speaking, your minimum wage is much higher than the UK's minimum wage.

"a LEGO Store Employee" told me their system still labelling 10264 as "confidential_creator_export". They dont know the title of this set. But it will start selling from November 1st. So will be released soon.
