Lego Ambassadors have been told that the new modular will be revealed tomorrow at 15 CET. So almost only 24 hours left to speculate and for a chance of saying ‘I told you so!’ if you guess somewhat correctly 😊

Hope that’s true!  Man, this kind of reminds of Apple events circa-2007.  They used to be so fun to watch as everyone anticipated a revolutionary phone to be released. Of course, it didn’t take long before leaks ruined the magic. At this point, we’ve seen photos and pricing information on nearly everything before the event even starts. Of course there have been some exceptions.

I would buy that lighthouse but would make sure the bricks are hurricane proof before I commit to a purchase

(And cat proof.  So you won't need the Ultimate Weapon.  Or the Ultimate Ultimate Weapon.)

    Town Hall remake? ;)

    Very excited for that!

I’m intrigued by these developments. The part count is lower, the assumed price point is lower, but not as much as the number of parts. I feel like we just had a corner modular, but it should lower the cost to buyers of 2x2 DBG tiles on the secondary market (for those that care). I’m excited to see this gas station and potential new animal elements.

    Very interesting, indeed.

A day early and an extra buck?

I find this rumour intriguing.  What am going to do with my 6x #60132 that I'm supposed to MOC into a gas station!?!?!?

Add add it to parts of Pet Shop and see what happens.

It is not going to be a unicorn cloning facility than?
    Or a brick splicery?
    Or a moon-dust brewery!?!

If it’s announced tomorrow, is it available for purchase or do we have to wait till January?

Assuming, but most likely it’ll be available for purchase on January 1st.

Umm...if it really is a gas station/auto shop, wonder how they will handle the car port/drive thru.  If they use tiles, it will be the same height as the side walk.  Will they have a brand new base plate just for this modular?  Very curious.

I am excited to see the modular today but I am even more excited to see if vibrant coral bricks are in it and if so, which ones!

Three story corner building with a gas-station in the centre and a garage / car-working place on the right. First floor has a veterinarian office. Second floor looks to be living quarters. Very nice detailing! 2569 pieces.

There could be a nice storyline with this one then. Short sighted mechanic keeps running over animals but just needs to pop them upstairs to be fixed cup.

Or will it be a sign with "CARCAT repairs".

I'm still hoping for a school, library, beautician, or hospital.  If it's a Police Station I hope it's like Brick Bank and has some sort of add-on shop.

    Rumour sounds good though!

Any idea where/how the announcement will be made?
  • PaperballparkPaperballpark Member Posts: 4,270
I'd guess it'll go on the front page at 2pm UK time.

Just think, Huw will probably already have seen it!

In many cases (US) the term "grease monkey" is considered a derogatory term. Some of my friends that are mechanics, embrace the term, but I guess it all depends on the context you are calling someone that name.

Picture has leaked on Eurobricks - 9 mins before the official reveal!
  • FergH0vaFergH0va Member Posts: 13
I’ve only heard of it used as a term for mechanics. I never thought it was meant to be derogatory. Is it something mechanics don’t appreciate or has it been used otherwise?

I'm not over-impressed at the gaps used to create the angled front. If they had to leave such large grooves, they could have at least made the hinge or jointing parts blend in by using dark orange. They are not even consistent from left to right. What happened to attention to detail?

Nice! I think it looks particularly great next to the diner, and really fleshes that out more.

It is not a set I will race out to get, or a must have set (most the modulars have not been for me,), but I think overall this will have great appeal to many.

    New colors apparently:

I definitely like it and will get it but I wonder what justifies the $30 price increase from last year? There’s only roughly 100 more pieces, are there some specialized parts in it maybe?
  • BumblepantsBumblepants Member Posts: 7,728
I like Dark Orange as a color but it's kind of a bummer here if you already have Town Hall. Both are tall, imposing buildings that seem a bit too samey. Maybe I am just unhappy there is no Vibrant Coral though and that is coloring (Pun!) my opinion.

I like how the yellow wrench (spanner for you lot that like to say that instead) over the door to the garage. Makes me think of the #6521 truck I had as a kid.

Just to add on to the “after I got to look at it for a minute” comments- the one thing that has me intrigued is how to use this building alongside LEGO Road Plates.  There are 6 studs on the left side, which would match up nicely with a T Junction Plate, but there are 10 studs on the inside corner, which would prevent the use of a T Junction Plate.  There are 10 studs on the garage side, and another 10 on the inside, so you can’t use it there either.  I also don’t think it would be easily built on a Curve Plate because the studs needed on the inside of the corner would result in the curve being drastically off-center.

I think it’s going to look best when two straights are next to it, and just have tile work done to approximate an extended tile road.  What do you all think?

The diner will blend in better with my town with the garage. Excited as always with a new modular building.

The citizens from the other buildings will need to get their heads upgraded so they don’t look like mindless zombies.
