Looks like there is a Rex polybag as well with him holding a blaster of sorts and a weird plant creature similar to the one in the bigger sets. #30460

My local Debenhams in Norwich had 6 Benny’s Space Squad on the shelf and more out back so might be worth looking in Debenhams for anyone struggling to find one

Really looking forward to this movie and it's sets. Just watched that holiday short (yes I'm running slightly behind) and son and me love it. Really hope it will be as good as the first one.

Love the holiday short. My family has been wanting them to a do a Christmas special with Emmet and the gang since the first movie came out. While it isn't a full half hour special, we still thought it was great.

Anything else out of the ordinary in the display? So far all I've seen is the sets. Curious what other movie themed items are coming.

I was out at BN picking up Benny's Space Squad and noticed that the display included a picture of a vampire-like minidoll with a crystal on his head. I probably should have taken a picture, but I got pulled away from the display before I could.

According to a post on EB he's named Balthazar.

There were a few books, one that seemed to have a lot of spoilers for the movie, one that has a Rex minifigure. A fleece blanket. Keychain flashlights- Batman and Emmet. Batman's eyes light up rather than his feet.

The stickers stood out to me the most. After seeing a review of Sweet Mayhem's ship I wondered what a kid was supposed to do when they used up all the stickers from the roll, turns out LEGO thought of that.
  • CymbelineCymbeline Member Posts: 580
Apparently the stickers on the roll that comes with #70830 can be peeled off and re-used according to Jangbricks

Found the junior novel for the movie at walmart and skimmed over it... I'm not the type that's afraid of spoilers so it was interesting to basically get the gist of the plot and characters and how all the wackiness from the sets is going to fit together. Excited for the movie even more now! :)

McDonald's next Happy Meal will be LEGO Movie 2. No clue as to what the toys will be. Just this teaser on their Happy Meal website. (Yes, McDonald's has a Happy Meal website)

I hope TLM2 CMF series is not double-bagged. The fact that they are the same size as the Unikitty bags has me concerned. I need to be able to grope bags properly!

Im guessing Unitkitty may be, but that will just make it easier to find. Im not sure why there is a Unikitty in the CMF series anyway. I guess LEGO has some more to get rid of?

Not really, since it's a new Unikitty design. More likely it's just because she's a popular character from both the first movie and the sequel. And it's certainly not as difficult as including Metalbeard would be. :P

I'm guessing the next round of licensed CMFs are going to see a price bump.

No dice at any of the Walmarts near me. My Barnes and Noble, however, had all of the sets except for the Benny’s Cash Cow set unfortunately. To quote the titular spaceman himself: “You’re really letting the oxygen out of my tank here!” (Now that I think about it, they didn’t have Rex’s Rexplorer yet either.)

By the way, does it blow anyone else’s mind that the movie will be coming out (in the US, anyway) in a little over a month? It feels like not that long ago that I was starving for more set reveals/trailers/news and now the movie is almost here!

That's true, which Im guessing that is why he got his own polybag. I'm a bit unikitty-ed out though with the CMF and the sets from the show. Though I am planning to get the Ultrakitty set, as that is awesomely insane.

@The_Stud some Targets haven't done a full reset yet, so you might be able to get Benny's crew pulled from the back.

Seriously though, feels like they just announced the sequel yesterday. Tbh, it felt like the entirety of 2018 just whizzed by lolz

I can't help but think that there are some pages on the Lego Movie 2 minisite that perhaps didn't get the rigorous quality control we expect of the Lego Group..

Or maybe it is a clue that Cicero is appearing in the movie?

^^ Somewhat off topic, but I was looking at the Pick a Brick section yesterday and that refers to "Crains" rather than "Cranes", so this does not surprise me.
  • CCCCCC Member Posts: 20,556
Anyone know when the Lego Movie 2 CMFs are being released?
Note that they are not strictly CMFs (although LEGO doesn't use that term anyway). The packets contain 1 CHARACTER not 1 MINIFIGURE, presumably down to the inclusion of Unikitty in the series and LEGO not being able to call her a minifigure.

How did you get to that? That page doesn’t exist on the US site (I replaced en-my with en-US).

In the UK, it's just half way down the page you get when you click the image for TLM2 on the home page

Hi, the ‘Welcome to Apocalypseburg’ set leaked on eBay a while back and I don’t think anything has been heard since. Anyone have any insight as to when the official press release will be? Thanks and  happy new year to all.

While that would be annoying, I don't think it will be as bad as we fear.  For starters, I don't think the smaller insert bag could hold all of the accessories included with these figures.  It was easy with the Unikitty bags since they had most of the same pieces and there wasn't much variation.  Plus, the Unikitty bags were hard to feel out for that reason; with these minifgures having some unique accessories like always, I don't think it will be too challenging.  Annoying sure, though.

This may have been discussed before, but I just received my January catalogue. I find it extremely interesting that the TLM2 sets are all listed with exception to Benny's Space Squad. Highly suspicious that. LEGO trying to hide something?

I was just checking that the other day and I agree that the site was probably not double checked. For example, I tried clicking on the designer videos and none would come up for me. Additionally, one of the tabs was titled “Build More Movie 2” for stuff like the 3 in 1 polybags which was also odd to me. (They also had links to the Lego Shop page for The Lego Movie 2 despite the fact that neither polybag was on there.)

@Pumpkin_3CK5 it’s funny that you mentioned that, because I actually just went to Target today and I picked up the last Benny Space Squad on the shelf! They actually had all of the new 2019 sets on the shelves, though there was still a lot of bare space down the aisles.

Maybe just trying to upsell people on the larger sets. That or they realized what early demand would be like and didn't want to devote page space to a set that would be backordered so early on!

No luck finding Benny's Space Squad. Target stores say it is in stock online but the stores don't have it.
  • AanchirAanchir Member Posts: 3,044
Yeah, in general it's been a long time since the LEGO Shop catalogs were truly comprehensive — it's not at all uncommon for individual sets or even entire themes to be omitted. Other missing sets I can notice in this one include:
So, nothing too suspicious, just making some tough calls about how best to use a limited number of pages.

Ever since my move, getting Lego to actually send me the catalogues has been a royal pain. I'm constantly having to manually request each one. At this point, I'm a bit apprehensive to place an actual order, as they seem to forget my new address on the regular. Before the fire, they all arrived like clockwork. :/

It’s been the same way for me for a while, until today when the January 2019 catalog showed up in my mailbox without me even ordering it.

The set's omission from the catalogue wasn't a mistake nor was it to save space, but out of foresight. They knew it was going to sell out before the catalogue was released, so they just didn't bother putting it in there.

I finally decided to order #70841 from Barnes & Noble. I may not get the 10% member discount but I do get free shipping even for such a small order (& save on gas from another trip to the store).

I've just checked BL for the colour popularity contest:

    Current sales:
    Pink: 8 / 45
    White: 5 / 17
    Yellow: 5 / 15
    Benny: 2 / 3

The numbers are unique sales, then total quantity sold. It looks like Lenny is the most popular so far! I can understand Benny not being so popular as there are many versions, and I guess white and yellow already exist. Maybe LEGO should have done more new colours.

If Lego did know that this would be the top seller why not just make more of the set in the first place or make a couple of sets with different space people in. I think you reading a little too much into it.

It is also the one likely to be on many supermarket shelves, so not really likely to be purchased at full RRP via LEGO.

Apparently we'll find out in the movie, but if you got #70841 already, the names are on the box.

    Benny - Blue (obviously)
    Kenny - Yellow
    Lenny - Pink
    Jenny - White

@CCC hopefully the movie has many different colored spacemen which they will release in the second wave of the movie sets.
Wonder if the movie will explain how the pink one came about.
