Is that reading back to front of the box?

Yes, further confirmation of consistent availability and no chase figures - the dream minifig series!

And also if you take a whole row, then you get one set?

You should, but apparently you may not get it complete. It seems one should check everything one's getting.

Sorry, that list is going from front to back so the Wizard of Oz characters are at the front. Taking one row should get one set but that is not absolutely guaranteed to be consistent.

It's still easier to just grab a row and double check them than to randomly sift through a whole box. At worst, you'll need to check through two rows.

Thanks for posting the (approximate) breakdown. :D

Of course if I get to a box late I can’t know if a row has been picked through already, so it’s always best to feel them out and know what you’re looking for. But the breakdown does help.
  • OdeinoichusOdeinoichus Member Posts: 361
So, basically, buy one whole row, get an entire set. If you get doubles, next time buy another whole row and that's that. You should still get an entire set and maybe two almost complete sets depending on the first doubles you got by some odd packing inconsistency deal. Sure, sounds reasonable.

...What if some jerk mixes them up? Unless you see the box being opened, you can't be sure. I'm just happy that the figures are all evenly distributed.

I've never not found at least one untouched case so I'm not too worried about it.

I've just been back to my Tesco to try and pick out the WoO figures. Took the list (thanks @CapnRex101) with me and tried it both ways around. Think there'd been some moving of bags but not a lot and pretty sure I've picked all 4 (to be checked at home later) and also picked a Watermelon Man. The positioning appeared to be pretty much as stated.

I saw some in a display at my local Kroger store last night.  This is a regular grocery store (not Marketplace) that typically has a "toy" section that is one set of shelves about 4' wide.

The display was a Lego Movie 2 standup cardboard display.  Had a few copies of different $10 TLM2 sets, some pegs with polybags (Emmet with the big heart) and 3 pegs of TLM2 minifigs.

The packaging has changed on the ones I found.  The packet is made of something closer to polybag plastic (and not the foil type).  The packet is slightly larger than the traditional foil packets used in previous series.  I think squishability was slightly improved since the material and size gave you more room to maneuver pieces inside.

Or girl. Girls are likely to be into TLM2 as well.

Not sure if we're starting up something crazy here, but here we go...

First Six Packs of Trading Cards:

    02 x1

    03 x1

    05 x2

    10 x1

    12 x1

    13 x2

    15 x1

    17 x1

    18 x1

    19 x1

    20 x2

    21 x3

    22 x2

    26 x1

    30 x2

    31 x1

    33 x1

So out of 24 cards I was hit with 7 duplicates and only one of those duplicates was a gold sparkly card.

This is from two separate purchases, and don't ask me who they all are, aside from Unikitty and Bad Cop I have no idea on the new movie characters names as I haven't memorized them yet.

Getting all 36 may not be as simple as it seems. Let the madness begin.

@just2good opened a case of TLM2 CMFs. Dorothy, Cowardly Lion, Crayon Girl, Hula Lula, Kitty Pop, and Sea Monster are double-bagged. One row is a complete set, and the order is the same in each row.

    Is this real life?

Does anyone know what the printing on General Mayhem's tunic says? I've only just now realized that the Systar lettering isn't random gibberish, but actual words (I'm clearly not terribly observant) like "cell", "status", and "karaoke", but I can't make out the word on her chest.

Bought six of the CMFs today in Tesco today:

    - Giraffe Guy
    - Crayon Guy
    - Watermelon Guy
    - Benny
    - Scarecrow
    - Dorothy

Both the Crayon Guy and Dorothy came with all their pieces in an inner plastic bag, aside from the crayon itself and Dorothy's skirt - not sure why that was? The rest were packaged like usual.

I'd already spotted that Benny and the new Batman in trailers/TV spots, but I was more surprised by the new sparkly-clean Metalbeard! It's neat how some of the characters who only got one or two variants in one or two sets for the first movie are seemingly getting a little more attention in this year's sets.

Having opened the 4 WoO figs, Cowardly Lion is also in an inner bag apart from tail piece and base plate. Didn’t make that much difference to the feeling.

RBG's a big deal in America for gender equality - but I must admit I didn't know much about her either until the recent docu-film on her achievements came out. It does seem like there will be a certain amount of feminine vs masculine tone in the movie - the posters I saw on the London Underground yesterday have a visual split between male characters on one side and female characters on the other. It'll be interesting to see how that plays out in a kids movie after the somewhat child vs parent dynamic of the first film.

Loads of Space Squads left in the Leicester Square Lego Store by the way - and they're selling the Emmet pod.
  • OdeinoichusOdeinoichus Member Posts: 361
This makes total sense though, Brother and Sister still playing with LEGO, Brother only doing it because Sister still loves it and he wants to keep that bond going, but has otherwise stopped caring hence the state of Apocalypse-Burg. Father staying out of sibling rivalry by being off at Golf. Why wouldn't the LEGO world of the movie be so divided.

Emmet's clueless naiveté will somehow save the day as always probably.

Is she a well know person for young American kids? It will probably go over the heads of most British kids (and adults), appearing to be just a judge.

I doubt it. Even if their parents loudly discuss politics what kid actually pays attention to that kinda stuff? Seems like a better choice would've been someone more universally known. Just feels like they are trying too hard to 1-up the first movie where historical figures and licensed characters are all interacting in the Dog.

There will probably be the same amount of people who get a pop out of this judge in this film as there were seeing a 'Classic Blue Spaceman... and he's even got a broken helmet and faded print!!!!!!' in the first. Like the judge in this film, Benny wasn't put in the first for the kids or even for most adults. He was put in for a small group - us. And even then, only some of us. I don't seem to suffer from nostalgia as much as most AFOL's ;) but I was very excited that Benny was being voiced by Charlie Day.
I suppose what I'm trying to say is that, by our very nature, we might find it difficult to look at the news of this person being in the LEGO film as exciting, significant, meaningful, etc. as there is no obvious LEGO link, but there will be people out there who find this news all of those things. That's why she's in.
Although, to be fair, at least Benny brought fun and excitement to the first film, I can't see this judge jumping about screaming 'Legislation, LegisLATION, LEGISLATIONNNN!!!!'

No. If she's anything like the real judge she will probably fall asleep as soon as she sits down. Love her or hate her at 85 years old she should of retired long ago.

Yeah, but then there are loads of celebs that could be in for a nod and a wink to a small percentage of the audience. They could include a Nigel Farage (or even Lester, as they already have him) with a joke about leaving the City which British people would get, or Sachin Tendulkar with a cricket bat to whack a ball to appeal to people in India and worldwide cricket fans, a Carpool Karaoke spoof would be recognised by some people in USA and UK, or two Geordies and one crashes a car (for Brits of course), and so on.

^ Yep, fair enough but given that it will be an American made film and that the first film made more in the US than the rest of the world combined, an American slant is probably to be expected and this cameo (if indeed that is what it is) is maybe designed to be a nod and wink to the largest of the small percentages.
Out of your examples, the Lester one sounds the most possible, logical, funny and appropriate. I would like to see that. I am already picturing a tiny MOC with a ruined Nelsons column and an Apocalypse version of Lester, sitting on his own!
