Would have been great if it were a real set; it has been a while since we had a TIE Bomber,
CapnRex101 soon put me right :)
However, otherwise the MOC is fab - is it canon for there to be laser cannons on the front of the bombing compartment or just a suggested play feature?
Difficult to tell! I just had a look for you (and myself at one of my many SW artbooks) and took a pic of a pic of one of the models they made and used for TESB.
The Lego model (MOC) is fairly accurate. According to another book: SW Technical Journal (by Shane Johnson), the hole at the front of the port-side pod; the weapons pod, is the missile port from which it can fire proton torpedoes and guided missiles. However wookieepedia has more extensive info:
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/TIE/sa_bomber
However in the film the TIE bombers navigating the asteroid-belt shoot/fire explosives from the 'bomb chute' on the underside of the ship flying overhead of their targets.
Btw. if only this was an actual Lego set, I knew it was fake but it looks really good. I think many SW Lego fans will be so happy if TLG releases a set like this one.
(Not that all TLG's playsets are executed flawlessly, but it's a very important element during the design phase of a set.)
That image is about 7 years old, but still funny.
