In 1965 there was a marketing meeting at TLG ...

It was projected that the new electric motor (this would be the bb07, not the earlier bb20) would sell as much as 300.000 units in 1966

GKC did not really believe that number. He did some quick back-of-a-napkin calculations and came up with the number 600.000

GKC got up and left the room with the following message to the marketing people:

"600.000, that's what we're aiming for"

In 1966 TLG sold 625.000 electric motors

....

I have gotten access to a boatload of old TLG internal material and will be posting more if there's any interest?

    Sounds like some cool stuff, looking forward to more. Expansion of acronyms would be helpful. I know TLG is The Lego Group. I can infer that GKC is somebody in charge from context, but it took a few minutes to find his name is Godtfred Kirk Christiansen.
