Value of #6866

Hi everyone. I have a copy of #6686 and I was wondering how much is it worth approximately. It is 99% complete with only wolverine’s hair missing. There is a minor crack in Deadpool’s right side of the torso, but aside from that, the minifigs are in very good condition. I’m thinking of selling it or trading it on the forum, but I want some advice first.

The set with Deadpool is actually #6866

You are probably looking at $50-60 range (Bricket Forum price) if complete and in excellent condition. Having a missing hairpiece is no big deal but having a crack in Deadpool's torso is. I would think that your set is probably worth more in the $40 range.

This is likely to be the biggest problem and also the difference in opinion between a buyer and seller. The seller will see a minor crack, whereas the buyer will see a major crack. Is there any such thing as a minor crack in a torso? It will mean the clutch on the hips and / or arm is looser than it should be.

The clutch on the hips and the arms seems looser than MISB, but not by much. I’ll post pictures when I get the chance

Deadpool is the reason this set is worth so much.  Your Deadpool is damaged.  I don't know that you'll find a collector willing to overlook a crack like that (I wouldn't).  It's hard to gauge what you may or may not be able to get for a damaged set.

I’m not looking for a collector. I just want to trade it for something, which is why I started this thread. Just looking for a range of sets to make a trade list out of.

I would say most on here are either collectors or serious collectors.  So you might be in the wrong place.

Yeah, those armpit cracks are MAJOR no-go's when it comes to minifigures for me. I'm not a collector, but I do want my minifigures in good shape (no armpit cracks, no smudged faces, no cracked arms, no cracked legs/"heels", no discoloration on white minifigures, and no chipped/broken hands), so I wouldn't even trade for that. The torso piece is just too hard to replace considering it would require someone with a much-more valuable intact to be willing to give it to me.

They will replace minifigure parts if damaged, badly printed or missing from a NEW set. However, asking for a used, second hand figure to be replaced is unlikely to work. Especially one this old.

They will replace licensed figures if you have a code found on the back of the instructions as proof of purchase.

^its true. They won't replace an out of production part, but if a licensed piece from a new set is missing or damaged, they will replace it but they'll ask for a code from the instruction book

I can confirm this in relation to capes of mini-dolls and minifigures. As for parts of or the mini-dolls or minifigures themselves, I don't know.

You can always ask, the worse that occurs is you are out of 5-10 minutes.

Although it is very unlikely that all the parts of a single figure is missing from a set, unless the set has been tampered with. LEGO are cracking down on claims of missing figures / parts. Claiming an entire figure is missing is likely to get you put on the naughty list.

There have been huge numbers of Deadpools (complete and parts) sold on BL recently, compared to Wolverine and Magneto. Probably all fake.

I find minor cracks under the arms inevitable, but one going all the way down is very major. Only my most played-out figs like Jango Fett and several Johnny Thunders have cracks like that.

^ It happens on a rare occasion. Especially where the arms have been removed from their sockets and replaced one too many times.

All my Johnny Thunders are from Orient Expedition, so it might be a different vintage than you think. And the arms have been replaced quite a few times. If you put green arms on the jungle variant it looked kind of like an army uniform.

Actually, they will replace out of production parts, as long as they still have them. I've gotten some LOTR torsos replaced when they busted really bad.

^ There has been a lot of suspicion about Deadpool sales on BL over the past six months,  see for example:

Huge quantities suddenly appeared about 4-5 months ago, and many have been listed since. 1500 or so sold in the past six months, many in multiples - and that is just the complete figure. So if these are good fakes, they will have been spread around lots of different resellers and nobody will know whether they are genuine or not. A few sellers in the Far East have been banned too, presumably their stock has gone somewhere too.

IMO, You have to call LEGO CS, not check the site. Email or Call CS to find out for sure as I do not trust the online inventory.

You're right. What I should have said was parts that they don't have in stock any more AND no longer produce.
