Any way to see the value of your collection?

I am seriously considering selling my LEGO collection, which is extensive enough that I dread the thought of selling each set 1 at a time. So I will have somewhere to start with negotiations, does brickset have a way to show the dollar value (whether msrp, current market value, whatever) of an entire collection? Thanks for your help.

If you add sets to your collection, there is a way to see the estimated value. I'm not sure if the number that shows is MSRP or based on BL prices or what?

If you are on the Brickset home page, click "My Sets", then it shows in the bottom left corner.

Ah thank you. My problem was I was using the mobile site. I forgot how much better the full site is.

If I could ask a follow up, I noticed it only shows the value for 157 of my 209 sets. I assume some of the older sets they don't include in the value?

Yes older sets don't always have prices. Those are going to be RRP on brickset so for older retired sets looking at the last 6 months of sales data on Bricklink and eBay is a good way to gauge. Also feel free to advertise in the marketplace here. No one will take fees out for listing on the forum.

If you are selling pieces, you can also import your collection into Rebrickable, and it will give you an estimated collection value, which I believe (but am in no way sure!) is based on the price they have recorded from the various sites they are connected to (mainly Bricklink and Brickowl, I believe).

I’ve had this question before about my own collection. If you have duplicate sets, then it only counts them once in the first number of that sentence. So, for example, if you had 156 sets that you only had one of, and one set that you had 53 of, then the result would be what you see. Then, combine that with the effect of any sets that you have that the database doesn’t have a price for.
