Only a small one but the Recent Discussions tag at the bottom of the page goes to the categories page. The categories tag and the privacy policy tag both go to where they are supposed to.

I don't think it's related to the move, but I seem to no longer have the ability to hide categories.
  • Speedman29Speedman29 Member Posts: 2,311
I couldn't log in via FB log in or username/password earlier. I messaged you via the website, but it appears to be back and working again now.
  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,087
    ^^ Sorted.

^ There's been a change to the forum code that I'll tell you about tomorrow as it's a bit complicated :) Fear not, you can still hide them.

#number links aren't working for me in Chrome. ( e.g. #75192 ) gives an error about updating bookmarks.
  • Switchfoot55Switchfoot55 Member Posts: 3,354
^ I'm experiencing a similar issue with Chrome. Although I don't get an error message, I am redirected to a Brickset Form Search page.

Is it the inverse now, where I "Follow" the categories I want?

@huw how do I get the Recent discussions display back on the mobile site? I had that bookmarked as my home but now just get category view, though I preferred the other. I can see a link for discussions on the full site but not mobile.

Edit never mind it seems to have resolved itself now! :-)

@LostInTranslation I haven't tried yet, but let me know if this works:

@ricecake, yes. It works inversely now.

Number links aren't working on Chrome via Android either.
  • MaffyDMaffyD Member Posts: 3,527
Was just about to post elsewhere that the forum appears to have moved. Glad I spotted this. I presume I missed a notice? Anyway, one quick login and all's well again. Let's see what the code changes mean in the morning (bated breath).

    Can it use HTTPS now?

  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,087
Yes but some images are served via http so the browser won't mark it as secure.
  • Baby_YodaBaby_Yoda Member Posts: 1,295
I echo the problems with number links in Chrome. It appears to search the forums for that number as if it were an actual hash tag instead of recognising it as a set number. My problem is the same as @Switchfoot55 and not @legobigbloke.

I can't see any photos that other members have posted, including those that I'd seen before the move. Can it have something to do with my Chrome's settings?
  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,087
    What URL are you viewing?

    Right now? http://forum.brickset.com/discussion/comment/573489#Comment_573489

Was this what you were asking? Or were you asking for forum threads?

I've just noticed that I also can't see your avatar, Huw, it appears as a broken picture. But all others on the page are ok.
  • paul_mertonpaul_merton Member Posts: 2,967
If it's only images being served over HTTP, making the forum use HTTPS would still be a good thing regardless of what the browser padlock looks like.

@jnscoelho, post a link to a thread in which you don't see the images.

It's probably a DNS issue which will resolve itself for you over time.

@paul_merton, agreed. You can access it via https now but redirections from http are not working at the moment although I think I've set up CloudFlare properly.
  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,087
The images are hosted at e.g. https://us.v-cdn.net/5015319/uploads/editor/4t/0qz3m49e0d74.jpg which hasn't changed.

I'm seeing them all. What do others see?
  • playwellplaywell Member Posts: 2,309
    Yep I can see them.

Then it's my problem. Which is weird, because I didn't change any settings on the computer or browser. Perhaps it's from the connection provider.
    Thanks

I didn't have this happening yesterday, but today when I click "Discussions" at the top of the page it won't load anything and says this:

    "No discussions were found."

I'm using in Chrome on a desktop if that helps at all.

Maybe this is related to what others have already brought up?

^I think I figured it out. I saw the drop down for "Following" or "All". Not sure how it got changed to "Following"?

I've swapped it back to "All" and am good to go.
  • teal93mr2teal93mr2 Member Posts: 1,009
^Agreed.  It seems that "All" must be selected each time "Discussions" is selected, which is slightly annoying.
  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,087
@paul_merton, now fully served over https, complete with browser padlock...

Disaster for me - struggled loads today with it. I use Chrome, which remembers my passwords - but not if the website address changes, so I have struggled to log in as I cannot remember my password

Delve into chrome's options menu and you'll be able to see all saved passwords.

I can now say for sure that the problem was the internet provider; I'm now at home and I see everything as usual, all images load fine.
    Sorry for the false report!

You can look up your password in Chrome, can't you?

    Also, SSL! Woohoo!
  • Mr_CrossMr_Cross Member Posts: 1,688
Top bar on iPad (Safari) "Discussions" tab returns "no discussions were found", but has page numbers, click to page two and lots of threads appear, click back to page one and all the threads are now there.

My problem is that I have have so many sites requiring a password, that the only way I cope is for Chrome/Google to remember them. I hate changing passwords...

But having clicked Discussions, is there a reason for it defaulting to ‘Following’ when I’m not following anything?  Is there a way to default to ‘All’ rather than ‘Following’ when clicking Discussions?

Agreed. ‘All’ seems like the better default.

I concur (not that it affects me too much)
  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,087
It should default to however you viewed the page last time as far as I can tell.

In that case, I guess we are talking about the default default; the state it comes up in when the option is brand new to you.

To ensure I'm understanding, does this mean if I last viewed the Discussions as "All" then the next time I click the link, it should go back to "All"?

For me, it defaults back to "Following" every time I click the link. Then manually change it to "All".

It's honestly not a huge deal to me, but in the event I'm doing something wrong that could change it to default to "All", I'd love to learn how to fix it.

^ For me also.  I've been finding it easier two use my bookmarks to refer back to the discussions view.  It doesn't matter if I was viewing all before, clicking the onscreen discussions reverts me back to following.
