[UK-WW] - Custom Plaque Sticker #5004590 DC Comics Bat-Pod

LegoboyLegoboy Member Posts: 8,825
edited April 2018 in Marketplace
Some of you might remember one of our threads started back in April 2015 announcing the Bat-pod competition and finishing with us all having a hand in designing a custom sticker to go with a duplicate plaque to the Tumbler.

http://bricksetforum.com/discussion/19652/dc-comics-super-heroes-limited-edition-bat-pod-june-2015/p1

It bothered me that I later found a BL store selling our design for an obscene amount of money and so I refused to buy it, but just last week I found a printers that could reproduce it and provide die-cut copies.

We've been working on it over the past week and I think we're just about there.  Because it's been put together overseas, I haven't seen the finished product in person but based on the picture I was messaged earlier today, I think it looks very good.

I was about to get them shipped to me but it occurred to me that it might be something the rest of community would like so I've asked the printers to hold fire.  Very very roughly, the sticker will cost around £6 shipped to me and then postage to you on top, whether it be within the UK or Worldwide.  It might be a bit cheaper if we get numbers up.

Before I finalise my order, is this something that might interest others?

J.

Okay, so I'm going to create a list here as there's more interest than I was anticipating.  Not a problem though.  Just need to keep tabs.

I'm going to assume those above are definite but feel free to remove yourself if not.  I'll give it a week and then will close the gate and those remaining on the list will be committed.

Price will not be anymore than the £6 each I had already negotiated plus postage out to wherever you are which in an non-tracked envelope can't be a great deal.  Just need to finish my cereal and cut some cardboard up.  Happy to use whatever method you want but tracking it will cost as much as the sticker, if not more.  I'd also normally suggest sending out in batches per country but I'm certain it will work out more expensive on this occasion.

I know I know.  It was IRE and then when the names didn't get tagged I repositioned the locations to correct it and messed it up.  I saw it after my 6 minutes had expired though.  :(

Hey @Legoboy Did you place the order for these? Just wondering as I’m finally getting around to getting the last few pieces to complete this.
  • LegoboyLegoboy Member Posts: 8,825
I have to confess that I actually have them and have had for a few weeks.  Just been really really busy and not had five minutes.  I am sorry.

The sticker quality is good.  Not Lego perfect but very very good - I’m happy with them.  They’re currently in sheets and need separating to provide individual laser-cut stickers.

I’ll try to do the legwork this weekend and work out what’s what.  [lol, said that a couple of weeks ago]. :)

    Cheers, J.

No problem, I know the feeling! You take as long as you need. You're doing us all a great favour.
  • LegoboyLegoboy Member Posts: 8,825
Isn't this a beautiful picture?  They're better than I remembered.

Will endeavour to cut up and do the necessary over the course of today.

Okay.  Sorted.  All cut down and ready-ish to ship - just need to cut down some cardboard.

Mounted mine though and it looks great.

Stickers cost a round £5.50 each plus postage which of course is down to whatever method you choose.  Admittedly I’ve rounded up and down a few pence simply because I can’t be bothered to work to the nearest penny.

    UK
    1st class - add £1.50
    1st class signed for - add £2.50

    International
    Standard 5-7 working days - add £3.00
Signed for 5-7 working days - add £8.00

The prices above are insured up to £20.

If a large quantity is to be sent @SumoLego, who kindly offered to take delivery and dish out once in the States, a combined postage cost of about £10 will allow for additional insurance up to £50 and a larger envelope - a standard thickness of 5mm doesn’t leave much room for stickers when it’s packed with protective cardboard.  You would need to make your own arrangements with him however to forward on to you, but honestly it makes no difference to me which you choose.

My PayPal address is [email protected]

Below is a list of those I’ve bought for but I did order a handful of extras in case anybody else wants one or additional copies are required.  First come first served.

Again, my apologies for the delay.  Thanks all.

Thanks to those that have paid.

For those that haven’t yet, when transferring the money, please can you not refer to the “purchase of sticker” or similar as PayPal will shoot me for the sales without fees, even if it is a kind of charitable thing to do.  Instead, if you simply just transfer the money and then follow up with a PM through the forum to explain who you are and where you’d like it sent.

    Thanks all.

Honestly mate, it makes absolutely no difference to me how or where I send them to.  I just need to remember how to spell USA when it comes to writing out the envelope.

That reminds me of a complaint from an Aussie on the BL forum a few years ago. "AUS is not USA."

Those below, your stickers are all wrapped and ready for posting out on Monday.

    x2   UK    @adiemc

The stickers are taped shut inside a makeshift cardboard sleeve with the exception of one corner to help you get in without damaging .  Be really careful opening up.

Others can be sent once paid/addresses provided and after I've replenished the Weetabix and Jacobs Cracker boxes next week.
