Hello from Kentucky!

alxlwsonalxlwson Member Posts: 11
Howdy, y'all!  I've been lurking around here since around November of last year, decided to go ahead and join the community! I'm in the Bluegrass region of Kentucky, and I am an industrial maintenance electrician. I currently work in the industrial crane industry.

Star Wars is my go-to. I also enjoy polybag hunting/collecting, seasonal and For The Home items, as well as some of the IDEAS products.

I look forward to many discussions with everyone! Thanks for having me :)

    Welcome to the forums!

@pharmjod, @Final_Sign, and I are all from the Lexington area, as well! I've had the pleasure of meeting up with them both, hope to see you around too.

I also am from Kentucky, Louisville. I am just now getting back into legos and could use any advice offered. It is nice to meet you all.

@samiam391 you want to put together a LUG in some of your abundant free time? =)

I'm nowhere near Kentucky, but I'm saying hello anyway! Have fun on the forums @alxlwson - that's a nice collection you have. Is there something different about the mandibles on the Millennium Falcon on your shelf there?

    Thanks!

What do you mean by mandibles?

@alxlwson What @MaffyD is referring to are the two bits that stick out on the front of your Falcon. There’s supposed to be an open space between them but it looks like you have a covering over yours. I never would have spotted that if Maffy hadn’t pointed it out!

It's just part of the roof, or upper hull. It pivots forward to expose part of the interior. When it's forward, it goes to the ends of the mandibles. Kinda looks ;like the "Solo" movie version, from above, anyway.

@560Heliport Just noticed from the radar dish that it’s the Force Awakens version, so that section must open differently to the previous incarnation. Mystery solved!

@GeordiePaul Yes, just when you think, "Oh, just another Millennium Falcon" (or X-Wing, or Snowspeeder, or... well anything, really...) hey, there's a slight difference!
