dtadamson: Hello there from Edinburgh, Scotland

Hello there everyone,

Just joined the forum today after lurking for a few weeks. I'm Doug from Edinburgh, Scotland. I started back building Lego with the Batman sets a few years ago and then bought a load of sets since all of which were part of a master plan to build a MOC of Gotham/Metropolis/Justice League Satellite. But in between I've picked up a number of Star Wars Sets - including a Death Star I won on Ebay which I only put in a stupidly low bid only to end up with it.

I've been collecting Batman, Star Wars, City, Mars and Exo Force sets with a few creator sets. I've not had much time to build in the last year however - with the birth of my twin daughters putting plans on hold! I've also recently been made redundant so I'm going to have to be careful with my purchases in 2012 - Hopefully I'll get all the Superhero sets, LOTR, a handful of city sets and perhaps the Monster Hunter Sets I've heard about.

I've found this site to be a great source of info particularly for the UK buying! Far more focused than a few of the other sites I've been following for Lego.

Nice to meet you all.

Welcome to the forums 'dt'. There's quite an active AFOL group in the Edinburgh area, and they tend to do a few displays & meet-ups throughout the year ... I'm sure they'd be happy to meet up some time.

Thanks Bluemoose, once I get some time (who knew twins would be so much work) I hope to get involved with the local AFOL group.

They're members of the Brickish Association ( http://www.brickish.org ), but one of the membership clusters is around your part of the world. Best of luck with the twins.
