70922 The Joker Manor On Sale?

So, I'm interested in #70922 The Joker Manor (mainly for the minifigs), but that $270 price tag is killing me.... does anyone out there who would have this information know how well it's selling? I'd hate to order it now, just to have it go the way of #76052 Classic Bat Cave price-wise.

I assume it'll be around for a while, but I figured someone out there might know....

I am very curious with respect to this topic, too.  I figured I would just have to play the waiting game.

I was going to wait, until LEGO had a bunch of promos, including the Disco/tears of a clown poly included with the purchase of the Joker's manor around Christmas. My guess is it will drop eventually, but like any other set for LEGO, you roll the dice

I figure this one is safe to wait and roll the dice on. It’s large/expensive and somewhat niche, so they’ll be plenty of time to purchase it when the retirement murmurs begin.

I don’t know I think the set appeals to an audience since its large, has sought after minifigures and has the roller coaster track. The last part I think raises the appeal.  I agree the price point is absurd but how much will that influence the price down the road who knows.  It’s also not be classic batcave...

The Classic Batcave didn't go on sale until 14 months after it's release.  I'd expect this one will go on sale to clear stock before Christmas next year.

Hi everyone, I'm new to LEGO collecting so not much experience with rarities and prices etc.  I've just started to collect Batman Movie sets and wondered whether to leap on Joker Manor in case it disappears at some point.  From the sounds of it I'd be better off picking up some other stuff that is currently on sale and wait?

@Bowie1979 i'd definitely start with the older sets first. the big joker set will be about for a little while :)

The first wave TLBM is just now getting into clearance aisles, with some of the front line standouts (Speedwagon, Joker's Lowrider) still holding steady after 13 months on the shelves.  I'd expect that you have some time before The Joker Manor A) sees a price drop, B) disappears entirely.  Arkham Asylum was 1st wave and didn't really get a price drop until Black Friday.  I'd expect the Ultimate Batmobile to be next on this list, with Joker Manor seeing a price drop around Black Friday 2018.

Focus on 70900 - 70917 - these will be gone before long, especially 70907/70908

@Boardshorts85, I've got all those (sorry, wallet). Just trying to figure out if I should be patient or not getting #70922...

Do you guys ever look back when sets go on sale to figure out how much you could have saved if you had waited? Luckily, I don't, but doing so might make more patient than I already am...

I think about that until I remember scrambling to get a Town Hall after it retired suddenly.

Or that I discovered I don't have a UCS TIE Fighter.  How did that happen!?!?!?

^ No, because it’s like looking at a lightning strike map and trying to determine where the next one will hit. Basically, it’ll drive you crazy.

If a set is a big enough want for me, then I don’t worry about what I could’ve/possibly/maybe saved. I worry more about getting it before I miss out. I have a number of sets in my collection that I saved a ton on, but just as many that I paid full price. In the end, the ones I wait and wait and wait on, aren’t as high up the want list, so I’m willing to wait for a lower price. On those others, I make sure to get them before they disappear...regardless of sale price...because 1) some don’t ever go on sale, 2) some do, but I could easily miss the sale if not paying close attention, and 3) some suddenly disappear. I’m glad I didn’t wait on Town Hall, but on the flip side, still kicking myself for waiting too long on Haunted House.
