New rumor going around, apparently from a LEGO store employee, about the upcoming CMF line.  They supposedly confirmed that there were 22 figures in the set, but stated that one of them would only come 1 figure per 4 boxes.  I don't think this particular rumor is confirmed anywhere, and I am hoping that it's just a store employee being totally ignorant, as they have been in the past... but with the police man popping up in Series 18 the way he did, I just can't shake it off at this point.

Ugh... IMO LEGO must really like hate mail if they do something so ham handed as making one of the rares be only in 1 of 4 boxes.

Here is my attempted list of reasons why you shouldn't believe that:

    LEGO Store Employees are:

    a. usually very unreliable (an elderly one told me about a Doctor Who CMF coming out in 2016)
    b. follow forums and stuff just like us
    c. the 22 minifigures information has been known for a while
    d. are instructed not to talk about future products or they face termination
    e. if they don't follow forums they will literally not know anything until the day or or before release

I don't think Lego would be stupid enough to put 1 per 4 boxes anyway. One per box (as per the S18 policeman) seems to be their new limit.
  • JudgeChuckJudgeChuck Member Posts: 1,576
Well, limits, like rules, are meant to be broken. This could be their new, new limit. And then one per 10 boxes might be their new, new, new limit. Etcetera.
    It really wouldn't surprise me.

Twenty two minifigures just seems completely stupid.  Why not just do a S1 and S2?

I wondered about this, it just seems silly to try and cram so many into one series, i'm sure there are plenty of Harry Potter fans to justify 2 series of figures. However i'm also still waiting for a Disney series 2 and never expected there to be 2 batman series so what do I know. :D

Since LEGO is the licensee of TLBM, TLM and TLNM, I expected multiple series.

Simpsons S2 is the outlier - although from what I recall S1 sold very well.

There could always be a Disney S2 somewhere down the road once all of the other timely licenses have run or there is a gap in the release of movies.

The next HP is later this summer - so the set of CMFs makes sense.  And since the 'newness' of the CMFs may wear out quickly, one saturated CMF set may sell better than two spaced-out CMF series.  (Despite my objection.)

I'm sure TLM2 CMF series will coincide with that movie release, and probably an CMF S2 closer to the digital/dvd release.

..and that 1 per box idea is stupid enough.

I'd just managed to persuade myself to stick to Marvel & OT Star Wars as licensed sets to collect, and then they do this. Damn you Lego, Damn you........

The Whomping Willow set appears to have the added on wall segment as expected. I wonder if Olivander will be a CMF or part of another set :-D

    Edit:

So is the LEGO IT team that incompetent or are they dropping hints... Tough call.

So, does it seem like maybe with each set they're going to release part of the castle or something?

Will they be doing long legs and capes for the quidditch players after all? Looks much better!

That is a leak, not an official picture.

I think it will be strange if they mix both long and short legs for the kids. Plus it will mean (hopefully) the short legs come in white again - they are uncommon having only appeared in Gizmo.

@CCC You're probably right. At least the picture shows you can make the new torsos work. I think I have more capes in dark red and green than any other colour, so they're quite salvageable.

Probably right.  I'm not a CMF collector, but I made sure to get the first Simpsons wave.  I missed a bunch of the second because the allure had worn off.  I wasn't committed enough.

Are all the HP sets except the castle coming out in August? If so, it's going to be a very expensive month for me. Might end up getting only the Harry Potter sets and not the Fantastic Beasts ones to save money.
  • kezkez Member Posts: 831

I wonder if that's Fleur Delacour in the 2nd image or Seraphina Picquery. :-D

^Seraphina Pic query for sure - skin tone is wrong for Fleur

That dementor is awful... I wonder if Leia is from Cloud City, the small Hoth playset, or just the UCS Falcon.
  • CCCCCC Member Posts: 20,526

I thought the dementor looked pretty good. I'm not sure what the print is like on the head though, whether it is camera flash or not.

Quite a few look like they will be very useful for parts too. There have been a few torsos that will be very useful across themes.

On another note, I guess the "leaks go in the leaks thread" practice is no longer followed any more? A lot of these images shouldn't be posted here for people that wanted to wait for the LEGO reveal, although whether they should be viewing a rumours thread is of course also debatable. I also thought that they are meant to be links to the other website, not direct embedded image links.

I'm confident it's coming. LEGO isn't the one releasing these fig leaks. They will want to keep that one under wraps as long as they can.

Did we know there was Platform 9&3/4 and a train coming??

Love the Whomping Willow BTW. Definitely going to need all these sets.

I am a bit surprised because this feels a little like the greatest hits, what are they going to do next year. Yes I know there are lots of sets they could make but I didn't think they would do the Castle, Train and Quiddith all in the same wave.
  • ShibShib Member Posts: 5,459
It still feels like these are based on years 1-3 which echos somethinb Mark Stafford said of the Great Hall set - I think there'll be at least one more wave with stuff from the later books

^Bah humbug to your film correction. :-P

Obviously I realise that LEGO has based most of the HP stuff off the films kcouple of very early sets seemed to take inspiration from the books) but I always think of the franchise in terms of books not films

These are great! I am surprised that Madame Hooch isn't included in the Quidditch set, maybe we'll see her as part of the CMF line.

The train set is a nice surprise too, looks like I'm going to buy the full theme. :-D

#75956 It looks like The Gryffindor tower has a feature that allows a figure to crash into the tower and fall through the banner at the front.

#75953 Features a little hatch underneath the tree, it would be cool if this could connect to the Shrieking Shack - although I'm not sure that will happen.

#75955 I like how the Candy Lady is included, chances are we will be getting Sirius as seen in the poster. I like the moving wall feature too to allow Harry and Ron to run through the wall.

Perhaps the CMF line will have a Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff attired characters.
