    I've come to terms with buying the Quidditch set at RRP from [email protected], because I haven't seen it on sale anywhere. Will probably do it to get the minifig pack if it becomes a gift with purchase there.

    Looking forward to seeing your progress on this! :) 
    Maybe a tip for the Quidditch Pitch: I wouldn't put the same colours of towers next to each other. I think they'll look better if you put 4 of each on each end of the Quidditch Pitch.

    @wardm Fairly certain bunching them together is more accurate to the film (or the books, at least).
    That looks awesome and it'll just get more amazing as you add to it. I have to keep resisting the urge to buy the Hogwarts Express and Whomping Willow immediately...

    Thanks! I've checked with customer service at Toys R Us and LEGO here, and the guy at Toys R Us didn't know about Bricktober this year, while LEGO gave me a cryptic answer full of Potter references, that made it seem like it might be available with them at some point.

    Just reminding you guys to buy as much Harry Potter LEGO as possible.  The more successful the theme the more sets we will get out of it

    #75956 has started showing up in CT, I expect it will be available at more Target stores very soon. The Target I was at yesterday had a whole pallet of Lego waiting to be put on the shelves.

    I'm not sure that is the case. While there is the possibility of ending the line if sales are not what is expected, whether or not they extend could be down to contracts already agreed. Plus any extension doesn't always mean more sets, but the possibility of repeated sets (just like OT SW).

    In this case, repeated sets is more or less the same as new sets. I'd say most folks would be happy if they re-did all the previous Harry Potter sets. It's not like they have been redoing the same ones every 2 to 3 years. It's been 7 years since we've seen anything.

    This time, yes. But if sales are good now and they start repeating on a 3-4 year loop, then it will become like SW. While good for the new consumer, not so good for collectors.

    Yeah, which then leads to the downfall. I recall complaints about 2010/11 sets such as #4736 Freeing Dobby, #4865 Forbidden Forest, etc and these were available very cheaply in sales.

    Maybe? I suppose it COULD be done, at a similar scale to Assembly Square, but I'm not sure whether it'd be the ideal way to lay out the shops in a set. It'd necessitate using a fair amount of the piece count on the cobblestone alley itself, and unless they planned to make it an ongoing series I feel like there'd be very little benefit to making it modular.

    I think another D2C of Diagon Alley, similar to the one from 2011 would make the most sense. Perhaps even in two helpings. The last one could have used a «Part 2» companion set, featuring WWW, Flourish & Blotts, and The Leaky Cauldron. Gringotts alone could also be a good candidate for a D2C, but not unless they start doing «Deathly Hallows».

    A Modular Diagon Alley could be done and a building could be released along the same lines as the current Modular series, but maybe 6 months apart. They could start with Gringott's Bank and then maybe Olivander's right after.

    ^I agree, but would start with Olivander's. Every wizard needs a wand. Not every wizard needs to go to Gringott's for banking, and most of the best scenes happend under the bank in the vaults. That would be hard to pull off in a "standard" modular building. Don't get me wrong depending on price I would probably get both.

    This would be a very smart move by Lego and make lots of AFOLs very happy.

    And poor. But happy. 

    My vote would also be to start with Olivander’s.

    If they did, I'd expect them to be open backed facades rather than full modular style buildings. Buyers would get twice as much frontage for the same part count, so they'd look better value.

    I doubt they would make a series. Too many casual buyers would be uninterested in a single building off the Alley. It would already be expensive to get if it was any good so better off making it a big something that is impressive with several shops.

    #10193 = Hogsmeade (just about).
    I'd be happy with Diagon Alley done in a similar vein, in short, a simple update of the last version.

    My local Lego store (Metrocentre) told me they had sold out of all their HP minifigs and wouldn't be getting any more. They said demand had been nuts. I'd been quite patient for once intending only to pick up minifigures to help push me over minimum spend thresholds. Now I'm gonna have to track down the ones I'm missing from elsewhere and not even get VIP points!

    Went to look for the Donut set at Target and found this instead. Dunno if this has been spotted but the Dpci is 204-00-2207 for anyone wondering.

    I doubt it. They did a similar one for Iron Man which was SG ad Malaysia only.

    I thought (and many did as well) that the The Lego Batman Movie Batpod was a Malaysia only exclusive and I was very wrong.

    They're pretty much just 1x1 plates and a 48x48 baseplate. If you like I can scan the picture and send it to you.
