/sorry, couldn't resist
Past that, not too much in the way of interesting and iconic vehicles. The Crait Ski Speeders? A non-starter for me...
Was only just quoting Luke Skywalker in ROTJ after Obi-Wan told him that what he had told him about his father/Vader, "was true...from a certain point of view." Sorry for any offense!
I think I've seen the same MOC, and it actually made me a little sad, because it was really good... but if it's the one I saw, the wings were fragile enough that I don't think LEGO would put out a set like it. Maybe they would have a better way to attach the wings, but I feel like it would effect the amazing looks in a bad way. I really hope they have a good solution to the problem and are doing one though. It would win the best non-OT UCS set hands down I think.
Although, part of me hopes that next year they plan to release more imperial ships.
I might be tempted, especially if they also hand out more special SW VIP cards, with the same SW benefits as the black one?
Maybe these could be Dark Orange or the same shade as the Cloud cars? .
I'm not sure we'll ever get one though, especially considering how poor the UCS B-Wing sold (although I actually rather enjoyed that set).
I cannot see LEGO having two extremely large SW UCS sets out at the same time. And I doubt the UCS MF is going anywhere for a while.
Would be great to have a cheaper UCS to offset the bank breaking Falcon.
I get the impression they’re just looking at ships they can make big returns on though. Maybe Vader’s TIE will get a refresh soon.
It is the same way I doubt we will get any prequel sets due to how poorly the Jedi Starfighter (which wasn't a bad design) did. I think lego feel people want certain sets for UCS line.
The design of the B Wing's cockpit/canopy was awful and totally ruined it as far as I'm concerned; it also didn't include any minifigures which was a bad decision. Combine that with minimal screen-time and it isn't too difficult to see why it didn't do well.
The recipe for successful UCS set is: Classic OT + quality design + (exclusive) minifigures
If the new Y Wing is on a par with the Snowspeeder, Slave 1 etc it will do very well indeed and, if the autumn set is either Cloud City or a Star Destroyer, it will do even better!
We’re probably going to get an Assualt on Hoth style Droid Factory, though.
R.I.P. Star Wars :(
(You did it on purpose to spite thee)
However, classic Star Wars is forever!
Back on track: So when is the earliest date that we will know exactly what thus UCS will be?
