You deserve a Brickset Forum Medal for getting all those.. :)
"Hi, I'd like to buy a large number of the Lego / Hamley's Guard figure, please."
/points
"Sure. They're just over there - buy as many as you like."
I bought 64 in the end, although when the girl counted them out at the till, she said there were 65. Given the length of the queue, and the fact that - judging by the look of intense concentration on her face, counting to 65 had been pushing the limits of her mental arithmetic skills - I wasn't about to make her do it again. Besides, they threw in a few #30478 Santa's for free, so I wasn't going to quibble. And it's not every day you can say you spent £390 on minifigs!
The guy on the next till over asked me if I was selling them on, and he seemed genuinely surprised when I said I was just passing them on at cost to people who couldn't get to the store, so maybe they've had resellers in already.
I also managed to pick up a few Lesters, but didn't escape without picking up a #21306 Yellow Submarine at 30% off!
So - this is how it's going to work.
I've ordered a box of padded envelopes which ought to arrive in the next few days, and they work out at about 10p each. Including postage, I reckon the cost will be somewhere between £6.75 and £7.00 for someone buying a single fig. I'll get in touch with all the UK forum members and any mainland Europe members if there are any, and sort out addresses and Paypal details.
Because sending lots of packages across the Atlantic doesn't make sense, cost-wise, @SumoLego has kindly agreed to buy a bunch from me and I can send them to him as one parcel - he will then organise the money / postage arrangements for the North American contingent.
If you just want what you've asked for, then I should be able to post them soon after the envelopes arrive. If you want more than your original request then you may have to wait until I can make a second visit, but it certainly doesn't look like there's a problem picking them up. (The Lesters are different - I still have to buy three downstairs and three upstairs, so I can't bulk purchase them yet.)
I shall be in touch soon!
:o)
I missed the original list but if anyone happens to pop into Hamley's and picks some figs up I would be interested in 2 or 3 - brother in law randomly asked me to get him one after seeing me retweet the article about it! - and I don't know when I might be in London with the opportunity to pop in myself.
No worries Lost - I'll see if we have any left over, and I can always go back tomorrow if not.
If there's a Santa polybag going spare, I'd be interested...
Thanks!
Like i said before, thank you for helping out this community so good!
Sorry! I kept one for myself and gave the rest to people in the office for their kids. If I go back for more guards and they're still giving them away I'll put one aside for you.
@mdtvandy - I'll see what I can do, but that should be ok.
@SumoLego Standing by to make payment once the figures arrive on U.S. soil.
Yes, thank you @BooTheMightyHamster. You are worthy!
I'll keep everyone on the US/NA side apprised of developments. I will do the distribution in the same manner - only the postage, acquisition cost and a marginal amount for the padded envelopes.

I make that 60 Guards & 9 Lesters, so there are a few spares going if there are any other takers.
No problem - we can do that.
@SumoLego is taking the other two Lesters
