Star Wars Advent Calendar - Unexpected spares?

TheFewTheFew Member Posts: 1,779
Has anyone else had this....

I am up to window 11 of this year's Star Wars advent calendar and so far each model has been sealed in its bag with all of the correct parts (plus the usual spares). However in 4 of the "trays" so far there have been extra parts that are not sealed in a bag and are just floating loose.

Will I find a broken bag down the line... or are these just extra pieces that have snuck in?

Very exciting!

So has anyone else had this, this year?

Any extras have always been in the sealed bags for me. I parted out six of these this year and I don't think any had unbagged parts.

My money is on a broken bag. Will be interesting to hear what it turns out to be. Maybe it's a secret 25th model!

Definitely no loose items in mine. I had to open my box because the bag for one of the days was "missing". I found it snuggled up with the bag in the box below it.

Never had anything loose in mine. I'd say as the others have, they'll be a split bag behind a door somewhere.

Well i caved in and slid the tray out of the box. A quick look showed that the bag under window 19 was open. So presumably the parts are for that.

So you were all indeed correct!

    How disappointing.

You get a very protracted reveal of day 19! Does that make it better or worse?

Worse, because Star Wars advent calendars arn't as exciting to me as one the were! :-)

To spice them up a bit, don't look at the image. See if you can guess the model from just the parts. We did this last year with the City one. Although it doesn't work so well on minifig days.

No spare pieces, but I did have an accidental duplicate. My son recieved a duplicate Sabine Wren from day 2 in the day 18 Y Wing spot and it was missing the Y Wing which was supposed to be in day 18. After hundreds of sets opened I have never experienced it before so it was actually quite interesting. I always told my son lego does not make mistakes when he says pieces are missing (usually finds it on the floor) and I will never live it down being wrong in this case. Regardless LEGO made it good as they always do, but it was interesting none the less.

^ I agree that Lego never makes mistakes. It's ALWAYS used error - even if that user is me. Advent calendars seem to the exception though. I had a duplicate/missing one in 2016 and have heard of many other similar stories.

I Like CCC's idea but resisting a view of calendar from Aug-Sept on will be real tough, a friend still has to give me a city calendar so it's going to be a test

That's not such a bad mistake though.
