Other than what looks like the Wonder Twins, I’m not all that interested. Did we need another Vacation Batman?
  • pharmjodpharmjod Member Posts: 2,916
Wow. That is a really, really weak series. I will for the first time only buy the series of I find out on discount.

Ooh...Is that Hugo strange and Diablo?
  • Toc13Toc13 Member Posts: 1,144
I had seen images of several decent figures that could take the place of just about any of these, 3 or 4 of which would have been buys.
This lot? I can happily pass.

Wonder what Joker’s face looks like behind the camera. Hope it’s a new expression.

On eBay there are fake joker heads selling as a set with around 10 different expressions, including that wonderful crying face. I wish they weren’t fake as I’d buy the heads.

I like the look of this set and they will be brilliant displayed alongside series 1.

Eventhough I’ve seen the film so many times, I must admit that there’s a few characters I don’t recognise.

please could someone post the names of these figures (or at least the names of less obvious characters )???

Who are numbers 17 and 19?

Surprised by the early negative comments.

Wonder Twins, Black Canary, Hugo Strange, Clock King, Chief Apache, Black Vulcan, Dr. Phosphorous and a potential Killing Joke Joker are fantastic additions.

What a deliberately strange mix of minifigures.  I see the marketing department got ahold of the 'who to include in what sets' decision-making process.

    1) Wondertwins for those '80's Superfriends collectors
    2) Two 'Disco' figures for those wondering why the new Joker set didn't have Disco Harley or Alfred.
    3) Zod.  Because Zod.  And Jor-El for '80's Superman fans.
    4) Clock King.  Clock King?!?
    5) Variations of the common characters - for those that collect single characters.

Ugh.  Off to put Joker Manor on the 2018 list...

But I agree - was anyone clammouring for a TLBM S2?  Other than perhaps a complete set of obscure villains or obscure DC Superheroes?

I really hope there isn't a TLNM S2 on the horizon.  I'm not sure how many Garmadon variations my display case could hold.  (Eighteen is enough!)  Maybe a Mr. Gold-style wooden Master Wu would get me interested.

Apache Chief only makes me think of the Harvey Birdman: Attorney At Law episode about him. Other than that, just the few goofy villains are all I will be getting from this set.

If that is a completely bare fleshie chest with no Batman logos anywhere, then it is the best figure of the whole series for me. Looking forward for these going to clearance ...

Black Canary should be a highlight & would have been one I'd get but I don't like the look of her. It may be that seeing an actual figure rather than the leaflet may help but I'm not hopeful.
I don't like the denim jacket on her, the black jacket is her look. It may be that it was too hard to distinguish between layers with a black jacket, in which case, no jacket would be better.

I'm going to need 17. General Zod. Awesome, so glad they've done him :-)

Probably going to want 16 . as well.

Phew! Only two more batman variants (and probably the two easiest to feel for) I was expecting at least a few more. The rest of the series will probably be a pass though.

Zod, Jor-El, Wonder Twins, hugo Strange, Clock King? I'm in!

I get the feeling that the designers of TLBM watched a lot of Batman Brave and the Bold.

Does it look like Dr. Phosphorus made of all Transparent parts?

Not sure. Might just be that pale spring green color. The flame parts in his hands seem to be trans and look a little different than he does.

Sorry to those that unconditionally love this set, but IMO some look 'phoned in'. Another Batgirl figure, but with a surfboard. The vacation batman looks like the one from the first set, but instead it has a dolphin instead of a rubber duck, and Killer Moth had already been in two sets, now three if you count the mighty minis. Does the world really need two more Alfreds? One in the set I could understand (and one looks like it belongs more in the Joker Manor); one could argue the same thing about Harley (who again appears to be better suited for the Joker Manor set). Finally, as much as I would not mind getting the 70's movie versions of Jor-El and Zod, this is Batman CMF right? Considering there still are many more villians and other characters they could add , I think some of these are wasted space IMO (unless this will be a regular CMF series where we will see series 3, 4, etc).

Not sure this will be a whole set I buy. Do not get me wrong, there are figures I want, about 15 of them, but do not really need the whole set.

This was for the LEGO Batman Movie, not just Batman characters. Movie was chock full of other DC heroes.. as you can tell.

I'm really glad they're doing the series! I don't care for the repeats, so I won't be getting them.
    I'm actually so happy about:
    Clock King
    Hugo Strange
Killer Moth (which I don't yet own, because the harvest of fear set was too expensive since I was only interested in two figures and nothing else, bought the blue beetle on bricklink)
    Wonder Twins
    Apache Chief
    Zod
    Dr phosphorous
    Black Vulcan
and MOSTLY the Black Canary figure. I've been wanting a figure of hers since they've been expanding on DC heroes, but I have to agree that her outfit is to 'bright' for the character. She needs more black!
  • wardmwardm Member Posts: 878
Oh and for the people that are saying they could've done so many other characters in this series, I'm actually really wondering which ones...? Cause I think they've covered almost all the heroes and villains by now, no?

I'm actually very ok with these latest series because it makes not buying  very easy and relaxing, lol....no need to "gotta have" what so ever

I feel like you are selling this new series a bit short. The new Batgirl you mention is wearing a knee-length, short-sleeved wetsuit, not her usual costume. The Batman figure is topless, with a totally different face and different trunks than Vacation Batman. And I certainly appreciate the Alfreds! Not only does his end credits outfit round out those versions of the main cast, but his old-timey swimsuit made me laugh out loud when I first saw it! It's nice that he gets a couple alternate outfits here since he was perhaps the most important movie character who didn't get any figs in Series 1.

Which villains from The LEGO Batman Movie do you feel like are still missing? From what I've seen most of the actual Batman villains from the movie that didn't show up in the first year are either in this minifigures series (Dr. Phosphorus, Clock King, Killer Moth, Dr. Hugo Strange) or the upcoming wave of sets (Condiment King, Egghead, Captain Boomerang, Gentleman Ghost, Crazy Quilt). In fact, thanks to this reveal I can hardly think of any named characters from The LEGO Batman Movie that are now unaccounted for except the "crossover" characters like Agent Smith.

As much as I love the new beach series, I don't remember them from the movie itself and they're not in the "Making Of" book. Could they be from some not-yet-released LEGO Batman Movie short?

Not a Batman fan so I had to look up Ms Canary. So we're really getting legs with a fishnet leggings print? Risqué, TLG!

I love Apache Chief, Black Vulcan and the Wonder Twins but I wonder why there is no Samurai, El Dorado or Gleek. Makes me wonder if there will be a third series.
  • GoldchainsGoldchains Member Posts: 795

Well, El Dorado is in one of the new sets(Justice League Party?), so we will get him.

Much better than the Last mini figure set that was released.

There are so many interesting figures in this series... I'll get Vacation Batman, Hugo Strange, Wonder Twins, Jor-el and Zod on day one. Not because I'm a DC fan, but rather because they contain some rare elements and useful facial prints.

Another TLBM Series seems too little, too late. The Lego Batman Movie is long gone...that train has left the station. I'm looking forward to the next regular series of collectable minifigures.

One would think S2 would have coincided with the DVD release?  (That may have been too close, and stepped on the toes of TLNM.)

Either way, I agree.  A most curious choice.  Maybe they thought they missed an opprotunity by not doing a S2 for TLM?
