Star Wars in 100 Scenes- Luke Skywalker

My brother found a LEGO Star Wars in 100 scenes at a boom fair in his school last year and picked it up for me. However, I recently noticed that it came with the Luke Skywalker with the medal (I think it's from the visual dictionary) It has the same outline protecting the minifigure with plastic like they do with the other books and it also said exclusive minifigure on the cover. When I looked it up on bricklink i couldn't find anything.Can anybody tell me if this is a variant, a production mishap or if I haven't looked properly on bricklink. Any help on this would be great.
