2017 Brickset Secret Santa

^ Thanks for the pic!  I bought that set awhile back for my desk & haven’t put it together, so seeing it now in the brick, I’ll have to get it done.

Sorry for posting so late but Santa got lost on the way to my new house and only managed to find it today!
Photo 1 - the wrapped presents - my dog was very interested in all of the parcels!
Photo 2 - as per instructions I opened the brown envelope first and found a USB stick! What could be on it? I hurriedly got my laptop and loaded up a file demanding to be opened first and found this lovely letter.
Photo 3 - the contents of the parcels- 2 great sets from my wanted list and a previously unknown to me set "Battle on Hoth"! I'm particularly intrigued by this last set and must open it up immediately!
Photo 4 - The opened Battle of Hoth set - lots of parts and another envelope to be opened after completing the build! Clearly this is a very limited release set and requires working on straight away!
PS I'm currently in the process of building my limited release set but am struggling a little with the instructions (presumably created on something like LDD) so it's taking me longer than usual to finish! As soon as I do I will post an image here. Huge thanks to both @snowhitie and my Secret Santa for getting my parcel to me despite issues with moving house, Royal Mail etc, you really went above and beyond! I love all of my gifts and am completely blown away by the creativity of my SS. Sorry for long post and big photos (I don't know how to make them smaller on here)!

Hello!  I do apologise for the lateness of my posting.  I got super sick just after the holidays and am continuing to struggle with that and a new job at the same time and so my online/Brickset time has gone way down. But I wanted to give a big THANK YOU to my Secret Santa, who while was a touch late (through no fault of his/her own) to get all the appropriate pieces to me, did an absolute fantastic job "picking" out a gift.  Santa actually created a little Christmas/Harry Potter vignette style MOC for me and put the instructions online so I could build it myself. It has cheered me up endlessly these past few weeks and will be one of the very few sets that I won't ever dismantle and will always be on display!  It's so appropriate as I am a huge Harry Potter nerd.

Yes indeed, the Secret Santa will be launched again soon. @CapnRex101 has officially appointed me as point guy (lady/person?). So, beginning of October we'll start the whole process again.

@cmrt1014 and @piratemania7 where also part of the team last year, don't know if you fancy it again? Or if there are others who fancy it, PM me in the next couple of days please.

Already saying im going to stay out but this year I'm told "no more lego in this house ",so this may be my only way to get my plastic fix

I would get a patio room or an insulated shed with electricity.  Not 'in' the house.

Do Secret Santas/Santees normally get paired of? Or is it more of a chain? I think last year my Secret Santa was also my Secret Santee, and vice versa.

Talking about random, a couple years ago I got the same friend for Secret Santa for both Brickset and Bricklink. She got triple presents from me that year!

So, finally got round to posting my 2017 Secret Santa presents photos - major building work meant packing up everything in the house for most of 2018 and moving out completely for a chunk of it with very limited wifi or phone signal.  7 left home to be stored elsewhere back on 21st Jan 2018 and haven't yet got her back...




Thank you SS.  Got a lot of threads to catch up on from the last few months but hopefully I'll get 2018's SS presents posted before 2020!!!

I thought this was from last December! Only realised now that it's from the one before. Well, I think it's always worth it, so that the SS giver knows you got it (perhaps not so secret any more, but I'm cool with that too).
