Maybe you enjoy vicarioulsy through the thread this year?
If you start receiving your packages from your secret Santa please feel free to drop a quick note to your administrator for this year so that we can keep tabs of where everything is! We do not want anyone to be left out in the cold.
~~~ BSSUBD17: STATUS REPORT ~~~
Dear Elves,
On the first day of December, Santa is pleased to report Brittish elves have really got going on the presents. In the end there were 44 participants (an all new record) and 10 presents have been send already.It seems that the workshop 'How to wrap your presents 3.4' from two weeks ago was well received, even though the host was over 20 minutes late due to an entanglement in ribbons.
We are still accepting entries for 'best Lego present only using 6 bricks', deadline for the contest has been extended untill 12/12/2017.
I would also like to take this opportunity to ask for some help. Our normal reindeer caretakers have booked all their annual leave at the same moment. This is not through a fault of manangement, but it seems that again the IT system let us down this year. We need to start up a rota for feeding, grooming and cleaning the pen starting on Monday. Volunteers will receive exta gingerbreadmen with their glühwein.
Together we can make this the best Christmas season ever!
May there allways be cheer and reindeer,
Cat Kringle
~~~ BSSUBD17: END OF STATUS REPORT ~~~Totally awestruck at my Secret Santa's work! (Or his/her elves?)
Me - what do you think?
wife - give it here
me - if you must do all the wrapping
I did have the good fortune of there being a Lego store at the railway station I was waiting at (I know, what are the chances), so was able to pick up a couple of gifts for my Santee and as soon I get back home will get them in the post, providing nothing else goes wrong of course. :)
I have to to admit to almost opening it as the handwriting looked exactly like my sister’s.
My Secret Santa has really done a nice job decorating the box. I love all the festive stickers on the box!
Thanks, Secret Santa!
Wheels are in motion to fix this, however.
Or maybe this all happened 3 weeks ago.....

Dear Elves,
On the eleventh day of December, Santa is pleased to report Brittish elves have sent out 22 presents, so we are exactly halfway. Our brothers and sisters on the continent have all fulfilled their orders and are enjoying a well deserved bonus pay.We would like to announce that Gwenda from accounting has given birth to a strapping baby elf on December 6th and she has named him Niclaus.
We have gotten a big reply on our cry for help to care for the reindeer. We only need a couple more people to clean out the pens in the last week of december. Please sign up if you have a chance to help out.
After a massive request we are pleased to announce there is now a selection of gluten and lactose free stolen available in the cafetaria. Our cooks also want to remind everyone that all the turkeys have been grass fed, only drank water coming straight from the gleitsjer stream and have been petted by Mrs Claus at least once a day.
May there allways be cheer and reindeer,
Cat Kringle
~~~ BSSUBD17: END OF STATUS REPORT ~~~Being slightly unfit (okay very unfit) the train obviously got away from me and it turned out that was the last one going where I wanted to go so after returning the bike to the station (see @omnium , it was only borrowed) I started the long walk back home.
As it was getting late and I knew I wouldn't get back tonight I started looking for somewhere to stop for the night.
Fortunately, I came across a rather nice ski chalet with a hot tub, run by a couple of very friendly girls who said they knew of a delivery guy nearby who they guaranteed would get my parcel to its destination before Christmas day and would loan me their snowmobile to go and see him tomorrow which is a bonus.
In the meantime, I'm going to make full use of the hot tub and the bar and relax for a bit. :)
Hoping this delivery guy is as good as the girls said he was.
I’m afraid not - that’s Carter who’s sisters are called Helena and Bonham. Esme is Esme Weatherwax and suits the character of her namesake - no great love for humans, tendency to bite and a sly look in her eye and always looks bad tempered.
