I'll add to the list of people suggesting a city-specific microbuild landmark.

I'd go as far as saying making the city specific landmarks part of the Architecture line like the Lego House.

For the United States, perhaps minifigures with shirts featuring the respective state flag. For Europe, country flags. Or sports teams, such as football or baseball.

There's not enough different batman suits, so perhaps a different version of one of them.  ;)

Think I missed the boat on this one, but I'd say a set or collection, where each store / location has a figure meaningful to that area and we can all trade with fellow AFOLs to plug the gaps.

    !

    How about Mr. Platinum?

My vote would be for MLB printed minifigs or the Defenders.

@samiam391 I have the same reaction, even though the mention is always before the actual draw :)

^^ I always thought Stella was the beer Belgium sent abroad for the foreigners to drink? ;-) I like it, despite the reputation it has over here (one of the reasons they've made it less alcofrolic). There are some stunning alternatives though, if you've good a good beer stockists near you (or presumably, you live in Belgium).

  • snowhitiesnowhitie Member Posts: 3,078
@MaffyD no no, Stella is one of the main beers in Belgium too. When going out for a party or a bar a lot of people will drink Lager and Stella and Jupiler are the main ones (owned by the same company). There are also an amazing number of small breweries that bring out beer and monastries that produce the world famous 'Trappist' beer.

The Stella (or wife beater as I know it's called in the UK) is actually quite a weak beer for our standards. Most speciality beers have about 7% or even up to 12% alcohol in them. There are sooo many, my personal favourites are Orval and Westmalle Triple. Well, I don't drink alcohol any more because of my health, but they still are my favourites ;) But they are not to be downed as a pint because you will be under the table in seconds.

I have a feeling we're going vaguely off topic here, but I completely agree with your last comment about not trying to down them as pints! For starters, you miss out on the taste, and secondly - you won't be enjoying yourself for very long! There's a brewery near where we go on holiday in Scotland called Traquair, and you drink their beers in half pint glasses, because they're just not designed for quaffing!

Anyway, glad sirrich69 won a Lester, and let's avoid pinging samiam391 again - I was a bit tempted though. :-)

I have the vague feeling that Beck's is the same for Australia.

The Stella usually sold in the UK is brewed in the UK. It is not like Belgian Stella. Weaker and cheaper, and for the past ten years or so a bad reputation here, hence the nickname.

^ I heard of the rep a lot longer ago than 10 years. Back when the choice was Stella, 1664 and Lowenbrau (there's some umlauts missing in that one, I'm sure).
  • snowhitiesnowhitie Member Posts: 3,078
Yes British Stella is not made in Belgium anymore. It used too though...

But that accounts for the taste difference, different water for a start, different flavours.

The first time I went to Belgium I was young and stupid, couple of Trappist ales later and I was even more stupid. I do like a rochefort but my favourite is la chouffe which also comes with the coolest glasses.
    snowhitie
  • snowhitiesnowhitie Member Posts: 3,078
@brickedin la chouffe is great indeed. And we've all been a bit more stupid after too many beers (or whiskey's).
Image result for la chouffe glas

Us Belgians are quite peculiar about the beer and the glass, each one has their own and if possible we will use the correct glass (unless you are a student, then you just drink from old Stella glasses or even mugs). We even do this with soda as well, our coca cola goes into a coca cola glass, etc...

Love how these bonus balls bring out all kinds of interesting discussions.

You can't beat a good old Kwak beer glass for a laugh when you are drunk.
