I'm still amazed that they will be able to physically stock 100➕ sets. Also how will they be able to serve everyone, sign the boxes, pack them in the big wheely boxes, in the space of 1 hr!!!

I made it just after 5pm and I'm somewhere between 85 and 90. I think I'm number 87. There are just over 100 here now, but still space for the 150 limit.

I said hello to @OldmanChudley when I arrived. Think I can see @Adzbadboy from here, but there are rumours of death by brick for those pushing forward, so I dare not move :-D

Woohoo for @mr_hobbles, after you posted at 5 you were still half hour away I thought, oh no that's just going be in or out. Glad you made it.

Hope Bricksetters coming from work are still able to make the first 150.
Thanks. :) I arrived about 5.20pm and it seems I made it in by about 30 seconds. Was on a train from Guildford and SWR trains have been a bit flakey as of late...

I'm wearing a black Destiny tshirt and grey GDC hoodie if you (or anyone) wants to say hi!

I am thankful to the lovely lady standing next to me who gave me her last pain killers - my back is killing me and need to sit down.  This has turned out be a question of survival.  6 hours to go and the rain's back.

@Mr_Hobbles I'm comfortable on my sofa (in Belgium) living vicariously with you all but can't say hi in person.

@caterham7 how are you going to lug those home? I applaud your inventiveness!

@Legoboy I'm sorry to hear that. Sounds like that's almost as bad as the Thames path challenge!

@Legoboy pretty cool. Super jealous all these exclusive product releases have been in the UK

The event looks fun and fair. I assume there are no line cutting or line holding for friends...

Tberes plenty of that unfortunately and LEGO seem relatively relaxed about it.  A couple jumped in a little way back from me just before tickets started to be handed out.  84 have gone so far.

I'm curious (having to battle SDCC every year), is the strategy to line up for a few minutes and have your partner hold your place for hours until midnight rolls around? Once you get your card and wrist band, do you have to wait in line any longer?

Weather update.  Yep, still good for short sleeves.  5 hours to go.

111 cards given out so far.  So no more holders.  Their cards will be posted out within 6 weeks and match their current VIP card.

So suggests that first 100 are special numbers, and available to take away tonight with us.

Now up to 116 cards given out, reckon the end of the queue is around 150.

The deal is that the first 100 get a special VIP card in a presentation box, individually numbered THX-1138-001 to THX-1138-100.

You can either open it on the spot and get the card tied to your VIP account, or keep it sealed, and wait for a normal black VIP card to be sent out to you within 6 weeks.

100-150 get the normal black VIP card mailed to them within 6 weeks, as above.

So these cards have been handed out with your number on, what happens if you get in the shop and have a change of mind or your payment card is declined at the till? Will you have to hand over the card to the 151st in line?
  • MattymanMattyman Member Posts: 27
Will the cards look different apart from a serial number?

So the most unlikely rumour of the day is that the 1st 100 VIP cards will enable owners to purchase back catalogue sets..... if only

I dunno, I don't look at the forum for 16 hours (travelling back from Ireland again) and @Legoboy is pulling another all nighter hanging round parts of London. At least the finish line is only 100 yards away this time. :)

Nice way to celebrate the anniversary though and at least you won't loose any more toe nails.

Lego fan shocked to discover night is cold ;)

Another Lego fan shocked to discover that t-shirt won't keep him warm outside until midnight in the UK in autumn ;)

I don't like to rub it in, but this is my thermostat:

jeez not had heating on since Late Feb up here!
  • PaperballparkPaperballpark Member Posts: 4,270
^ I'm 170m above sea level here. It's rather colder around here. As an example, we still get snow every winter. One day last winter there was 10in on the ground.

We put our heating on 2 days ago too. Very early, but proper cold all of the sudden.

    Sending you all warm thoughts.

Day 45 in the big lego queue. The exciment has built for a overpriced child's toy. @Legoboy has gone slightly mad and is now ranting at a lamppost as if he is the Big Brother house. In the background a queue jumper swings from a nose made from 2x4.

"OMG Big Lego, that @caterham7 is well rude. He has like chairs and I ain't got nothing. It's well unfair. Plus I like heard he is gonna buy 10 and sell them on eBay but sub out for lepin."

Clothing update.  Warmed up a bit - I might make midnight at this rate.  2h 45m!

I read that as 'noose' and it didn't surprise me, given what some would do to others for a UCS MF...

How's the queue looking now? I'm gonna stroll up at 10.30pm just to see what's happening. Gonna park nearby too incase I can actually buy a set.

I don't think you'll be driving home with a UCS MF tonight...
