FS in UK - Taj Mahal 10189 (opened box but otherwise brand new)

ArgonautArgonaut Member Posts: 21
I will try and put up some photos tomorrow or you can request via email, but I have for sale in London a Taj Mahal. The box is slightly damaged and has been opened, but the contents are brand new (still sealed in their plastic bags) and the 3 instruction booklets in mint condition. Always been in a smoke & pet free home, dry and out of sunlight.

I would ideally like a face to face deal in the UK.  I am looking for offers in excess of GBP 1500.  Happy to post at buyers risk.

Any questions please feel free to ask - on this thread or via PM.

International sales are fine if the buyer pays the courier fees and accepts the associated risks.

If you feel my asking price is unrealistic, please feel free to make a lower offer.  My set is not brand new & unopened, but neither is it 'used' in any way, so pricing is tricky!

You still have time to list it low on eBay to sell to the uninformed buyers! After a few days you will have a hard time moving this.

Do you think it will sell for that?

Guys - I am happy to look at reasonable offers.   Any new info on current market value would be appreciated anyway.

This set, possibly unfortunately for your sale, is being re-released in about 3 weeks. Since this is the original 10189 and still in new condition, the value might just hold (many a time sets have high value only because of the packaging). It might come to a point where the new Taj sells out like the UCS Falcon from this year and more people become interested in the original 10189.

Look to here for upcoming news on the re-release:

And look to here for the value of the set as the coming weeks pass:

    Hope this helps!

Ahh...I see!!   Bummer.  :)   Although I can't believe Leo re-released one of the most boring builds on the planet.  Cynical cash-grab by the new CEO as Lego hasn't been doing that well financially recently.

Oh, well - my set cost me nothing so I think I'll just keep hold of it for now.  :)

@Argonaut - I'm trying to help. You might still be able to get a decent return especially if you don't care about the set. $300-500 is still nothing to sneeze about. I can think of a lot of cool things I can do with amount of money. Hopefully you can get some PM offers some people who are interest from this forum.
