First Trip To Denmark

AdzbadboyAdzbadboy London, UKMember Posts: 2,615

My goal is to visit the LEGO House during its opening weekend. Would it worth be staying longer than a day in Denmark to visit other places and locations? What other places would you guys suggest?

I'm also hoping to pick up the following sets as souvenirs: #4000010 - LEGO House, #4000016 - Billund Airport and #21037 - LEGO House. Would anyone know where to pick the first two sets up from and how much is the going price. I recall #4000010 being £17 and #4000016 costing £40 at the time of the reviews by Huw on the main site.

Anything else I should take note of for this trip?

#4000010 LEGO House supposedly is available from pretty much any shop in Billund, priced at DKK149. At current FX rates that's EUR20/GBP18.
#4000016 Billund Airport is only available at the airport, in the Lego store past security. So you need a flight departing from Billund to snag it. Costs DKK 399, which at the moment converts to EUR53/GBP49.

Going to Billund/Denmark for the first time as well tomorrow, so can't help with any other questions. The Destination Billund 2015 thread might help?

@Adzbadboy not sure if you've read elsewhere but the airport is no longer available.

Don't forget the other House sets... Pick a model fish x 2, I see Lego House keychains in the database that weren't available yet, and maybe some polys from the Mini Chef restaurant... ;-)

Well done bringing this thread up again @iso3200 - I forgot I said I was going to report back :o

    Hi,

I was wondering if anyone can update on this thread?  I am going to Billund in February 2018 to see the house & would like to know if the Lego Billund airport 4000016 set is still available at the airport?

    Thanks in advance.

    Cheers Huw.

I won't go hunting for that then.

One last question you might be able to answer.

Is it walkable from the airport to the Lego House?

    Thanks in advance.

Yes it is, head in the direction of the Zleep Hotel, though note that for about 400m from the hotel past the garage to the first roundabout there is no pavement, but walkable.  From the roundabout there is pavement/cycle track to Legeoland and then into town.

We walked LEGO House to airport Saturday night after a nice meal in Le Gourmet restaurant.  Took 45mins - hour.

Note the bus fare is only about £2 and there is a service at least every half hour.

As @Huw says, no Billund Airport set in the airport shop any more.

Thanks for that information. Can't wait to go, just hope they still have the house sets when I get there. Long way to go & not get one. Also any ideas for places to eat would be appreciated.

It was last week, at least that's what one of the regulars on a Lego Facebook group said who just came back from Billund.

^ That's odd. It was sold out and never coming back when we were there on 25/8.

Just got back from Billund yesterday and definitely no airport set available. Airport shop did have a couple of last years freebies though, Snowglobe & Fountain, plus some of the monthly model build polys.

^Only other Lego house exclusives I saw were the 2 pick a model fish tanks and some keyrings (maybe a magnet).
