That is a really weak GWP offering… I had been thinking about getting the Hogwarts Icons on day one but I’ll wait for double VIP or a better offer down the road.

Definitely weak.  Not likely I would bother doing the 90 minute each way drive to get to the store for this especially since I just bought the Monster Polybag the other day.  I'm wondering if there will be some unknown/unannounced GWP's popping up at some point next month.  I've been holding off on most of the latest HP sets myself waiting for some decent offers.  Only got Hogsmeade during AFOL day since I expect it will be harder to come by as the holidays get closer.

Sooo weak.  Good excuse to wait for the awesome offers that come with Oct/Nov/Dec.

Well after the AFOLs days which likely cleared out my local LEGO store of most of the good PaB and since they have not gotten the new BaM parts yet, I have been standing pat in getting to the store, I like going just to see parts they have and talk to the employees, along with visiting the LDC store nearby, but right now not really worth it, especially since it is 91 degrees out and its only 1pm.

Went to my local Lego store up in Jacksonville yesterday and spent probably twice what I intended to. They have both the BaM and PaB available ... a nice little boy about 5 years old even helped me find stuff at the BaM!

No, he was too cute to do that to him although I have to admit I thought about it.

Ok, So visited the LEGO store in Schaumburg IL (LEGO store in the mall, not LDC) and they have the accessories for many of the new figures, but not the new figures themselves (can be seen here: https://jaysbrickblog.com/news/new-build-a-minifigure-exclusives-for-q3-and-q4-2021-revealed/)
So the LEGO store had pigs, the balloon animal, the snowboard (but did not recall seeing the toque/snow hat'), flask, blue ice cream pop, and guitars. The LEGO LDC had some of the new figure parts (like the day of the Dead mariahci, sombrero, torso and head, but the legs were not out (nor were the guitars). Brick torso was there, and legs, but heads and hair were missing as well as the balloon animal) but missing many if not all of the accessories.
So hopefully LEGO store gets all of the parts in soon, but the LEGO Store (not in LDC)  also had the complete pug outfit now (costume head torso and legs)
The Store also had more of the dachshund, black scotty dogs (black 'toto' dog), Coral colored inflatable ducky parts as well.
Nothing terribly interesting in the PaB bins, except 4x8 Medium nougat colors plates, and the 2x2 engine part: seen here  https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=50943&name=Vehicle, Air Scoop Engine Top 2 x 2&category=[Vehicle]#T=C

I should be headed to my nearby LEGO Store in the next few days. I'm anxious to see what they have on the BAM menu and PAB wall.

Anyone know if double VIP points apply to purchases made in the store?  If not I'll order online.

It should be in-store also. I only buy in-store, and if double points was ever online only, I think I'd remember my outrage! :) I checked Lego.com, and it says "double points on all purchases".

While it is there in the small print, I was disappointed that Speed Champions does not count as a subset of City for this week's promotional  city set. Super Mario purchases were eligible, however.

Thankfully, I am part of a LUG and a friend was able to find the pig, Skelton mariachi and teal brick girl with purple balloon for me. My two nearest stores don’t have any of these figures and accessories.
  • madforLEGOmadforLEGO Member Posts: 10,755
Yeah, it sounds like some LEGO stores are getting skunked by the company on these. Not sure if its just due to supply shortages, or policy changes.. Still holding out hope that I see them at my local LEGO store (but by then the accessories will probably be gone, at least the Pig will be). I keep finding the pieces for these at the local LDC, but at the price they want for them, and they force you to get a complete figure (when they do not have the complete figure available) is a bit annoying.

I believe that the Northbrook store has the new pieces, though you may have to ask about them.

    Hi all,
make sure you ask an associate.  When I was at both the Potomac Mills and Pentagon City stores in northern Virginia in last 2 weeks, the new pieces and figures (teal brick, skeleton mariachi, ballon animal, pig etc) were being kept behind the counter.  I almost didn’t ask at the first one just thought they didn’t have new stock.

hope you find everything your looking for,
    lois

Just saw the Hogsmeade Village set is on backorder (likely due to the current HP promo). Still debating if I want to risk holding on a purchase or just pull the trigger to make sure I get it before the holidays. As it, it won't get to me until mid-December.

Local stores seem to all be out of stock as well...
  • Switchfoot55Switchfoot55 Member Posts: 3,257
^Just saw my local Walmart has them in stock. Same price as [email protected] I think I'd spend more money in gas driving to the Lego Store than I would driving the 5 minutes to Walmart.

    Smarter, not harder.

New figures are in today at the Schaumburg IL LEGO store (in the Woodfield mall, not LDC), they also have the Hogsmeade Set, as well as the Home Alone set.

    Day of the dead Pictured:
Mariachi, Brick girl, Shark Suit guy,
Not pictured: Little kid with Popsicle, Mad scientist, Snowboarder, Farmer... But it looks like they may be out of Pigs for the farmer (unless they have more in back). Sorry no pictures of all the figures as I did not get every figure..

Were your figs pre-packaged?  My Brick suit guy came with sideburns and a cowboy hat!

The store at Water Tower Place in Chicago had these PAB pieces last weekend…

(More 1x2 plates in dark red to MOC my own version of the Robie House…)

@KungFuKenny I built them myself as they had literally just gotten the parts (still in their plastic shipping bags). I used the 'blueprint' from one who got these on another site.
    One was Eurobricks:
    and the other:
This series of figures seem maybe a bit more mismatched than previous ones, but went with the two sites above as to how to 'build' the figures this time around (though the day of the dead' mariachi was easy to figure out )

The BAM parts at my store were loose as well with no real indication as to the "correct" head & hair for the teal brick suit. I've seen it done with a few variation. This makes my neat and orderly brain all kinds of crazy. But I've now picked up 2 of the brick suits among a number of other parts including a total of 6 of the pink pigs - no exact plan for those as of yet.

They're pre-packed here, and the teal brick suits had all kinds of mixed parts. All Mariachi figs I've seen had plain black legs, no prints - didn't even know there are printed legs for them until I've seen pictures in here.

Yep, not many I think knew that but it seems that the Mariachi are the only figure those black legs with the design could belong to in the new parts selection that I saw. The employee was adding the boy with hair onto the brick figure, but that seemed more suited for the boy with ice cream figure they also have in the series of BAM figures, so I think the girl head with the double bun hair is the right accessory for the brick costume.

If you really want that set but don't want to buy $40+ worth of Lego to get it, you might be able to find it at your local Target.  I got one for $4.99 a few weeks back.

The LEGO store at Mall of America is pretty well picked over, to be expected this close to Christmas, but had most of the biggest sets: UCS AT-AT, Gunship, Mos Eisley; Assembly Square and Police Station; Tumbler, Batwing, Daily Bugle. City, Friends, Disney, DUPLO seemed scarcest. But plenty of #40426 Christmas Wreath 2-in-1.

oooo, nice 1x6x5 Red panels, and the tree limbs leaves.. Im guessing the tree limbs/leaves will not last long as a lot of AFOL's seem to go clear stores out of those when the opportunities arise.

They also had the leaves in Flame Yellowish Orange, but I got a few dozen of them a month or two ago.
  • karritkarrit Member Posts: 899
Lucky, my nearest stores have had nothing really good for ages.  They had the Red Panels in one store about 6-8 months ago.  One had the Tree Limb/Leaves for the AFOL day back in August but I haven't found them since.  Granted I only get to go every 2-4 months but the pickings were pretty slim week before last although I did grab a bunch of larger plates along with some small stuff for fillers in the cups.  Will be interesting to see what I can get at the Disneyland store when I go at the end of February.  Usually do a bit better at DisneyWorld but not planning to visit there until maybe June.  I really wish they would replenish with a different color door frame & door panel.  A bit sick of seeing the same old gray & yellow for those pieces.  Wish I could find some of those tan slope pieces.  I would be thrilled to find the profile 1x2 bricks somewhere in any color but it seems they only get those in Europe.

I live 12 miles from Mall of America, so I visit the LEGO store almost every week. Some PAB parts go very fast. I have no idea what I might have missed by going on the "wrong" day.

I need to hit up my local pab wall more often now that I live near a store. def need some bulk stuff but so far, I've never really found anything that I really wanted or needed. did get some stuff on my last visit. so that was cool. but it was only a fraction of what I really want/need.

Mall of America store (closed for the day) has: #40499 Santa's Sleigh, all the 2022 Monkie Kid sets including #80036 The City of Lanterns, #75320 Snowtrooper B.P., #75321 Razor Crest Microfighter, #75322 Hoth AT-ST, #75313 AT-AT, Series 22 CMFs, #31129 Majestic Tiger, both GWPs. I think they had all of the January 1st sets, but I'm not certain.

I was at the Mall of America store today, and they were installing a Minifigure Factory. At least, I assume that's what it is; the store was busy, with people waiting to get in, so I filled a large PAB cup and left. I got a bunch of the cloud-shaped minifig stands (from the Unikitty blind bags.)(And other random parts.)
I wonder if it can print the Classic Space logo?

There's a Beta version available online now @ Lego.com.  Limited to one fig per customer for $11.99.  Looks like they have some torsos that would be good for Castle but 11.99 for one figure is a bit much.  I may check out the Disneyworld Store one next week to see what they have available.  Didn't see a Classic Space logo online but they can print a space shuttle on a torso.  Legs are just solid colors.  Not too much interesting in the accessories.

^ In-store, I assume you can pick the other parts from the BAM bins.
  • karritkarrit Member Posts: 899
The one in my store and has a separate tower full of BAM parts next to the Factory set up that has a lot of parts that aren't in their regular BAM tower.  So far they have allowed people to pick parts out of the factory tower to supplement those in the regular tower but they don't have any torsos in the Factory tower.  I suspect that when the factory set up is busy they would discourage one from searching for parts but so far the few times I've been there they've encouraged me to look there if I can't find something specific in the regular BAM tower.  I know the ones at Disneyland & Disneyworld are well roped off to keep out those who aren't paying for the Factory experience and I've seen some better part options limited to their Factory towers.
