Buying custom instructions

So I found a UCS moc that I want to get as a gift. However the seller has both the instructions a completed version of the set for sale. I checked around and it doesn't appear to be pilfered off any other sites. Normally I like to buy the instructions and go to town but since this is on Ebay and I dont have access to the parts list ahead of buying the instructions, what are the odds the seller (or somebody else) has bought out some key parts to significantly increase the price of making the set to the point where it is cheaper to buy the ship itself from the seller?
